Glad to see I am not the only person who has seen how doorways are magnetic to people who have nothing better to do than be in the way..

Yep, so many times I have to say to people to clear the doorways please. Then 10 minutes later, the same people are back.

I dont know if you ever read your contract.. but it might actually say that HODs are responsible to keep the way clear. In that case, put down tools and get the AD to clear the scene. Because if you clip one of these idiots .. it will be your fault.

4:42 I love the dry humor. I've been binge watching most of your episodes since discovering your channel yesterday. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Love the detail! Never really thought about it, but have somehow intuitively taken on all your steps as habit... the beauty is relaying the logic behind the practice for those coming up. Thank you.

Indeed. Thank you Andrew and Luke both for your channels. Simple, everyday actions are great to break down like you 2 do. *thumbs up*

It takes about 4 weeks of carrying them by the head to do this.

I always recommend carrying it upright with 2 hands. Holding it like a shopping bag can trap your fingers between the legs and pole when lifted back up vertically on even slightly loose legs.

I was carrying a combo last week and the first thing that came to mind is, "what would Andrew do?" Thanks for these videos!

The trouble with the stand on the shoulder is that if you turn you can swipe someone. Its not wrong just requires a high level of alert or get a runner to follow you. If the clamps are not done up the stand can slide - super bad but we are going to have our stand tight :)

Can you do one about carrying a stand with a light on it? Love how in-depth you get with this.

Very informative and helpful video. Wondering how you held that heavier stand in one hand for few secs. Your are strong. God bless

"49 standing in the doorway" 😂 so true. If you want all 50 you have to go to video village.

The hardest part is getting heavy stuff up to your shoulders. Stands aren't such a big deal but a lot of film gear is uneven in shape and weight distribution so it isn't like practicing with a barbell at all
@gaffergear
@gaffergear Жыл бұрын
That's a good point. A lot of new manufacturers don't get that the weight needs to be centred.

My problem is keeping the stands locked when transporting in my car or truck (pickup). Every time I pull them out, one of the locks breaks loose.

Ah yes, classic doorway situation. The crazy thing is that even after alerting them that you are passing by multiple times, they just return to the same doorway...
