I was also watching it for the first time. Then the original skit was in my YT recommendations. It seems like the original skits were shown back in 2005. The comedy poked fun at their own "ugly appearance / face". It made a lot of comical sense. I thought the "Family of Love" was the craziest and most savage skit of this week's episode.

They didn’t change the cast, those are people that have been working for the show prosperity since the beginning around 20years ago. So they are thanking every comedian in the 2 parts of the 1000th special

There were and could be so many reasons behind them. We should remember that before the availability of KZbin, streaming and even KBS World (which started only in 2003), Gag Concert were catered for Koreans and KBS viewers only. So it is understandable that KBS and Gag Concert want to honor and cherish all the comedians that were part of the 20 years / 1,000 episodes history. The producers have to plan, pick & choose the most popular and memorable skits and characters, and also incorporate them with the current generation of comedians. And some may not be available for who knows what reasons.. so they had to change to original comedian. Like "King Of Ratings" which should have been Park SungKwang.. and Kim Junho (and also Cha TaeHyun, due to their betting scandal) may still not be cleared for a televised appearance.. So, we just have to be grateful with what GagCon have put out.
