Nothing wrong with Air India, I travel on it all the time from London! Problems occur with all airlines, not just Air India, iv had major problems with Emirates at Gatwick

i disagree, other airlines take accountability for the inconvience that might been caused due to them , however Air India is a in a different league the give zero ducks about the passengers ... and i also agree that it might happen with othwr airlines as well but the frequency is much lesser compared to Air India

Air India has seen huge improvements and they are working extremely hard to make things better. When it was run government of India majority of business class and first class cabins were occupied by well connected people who bought cheap economy class tickets and used their power or infulence to get free upgrades. Now under the private mangement these classes have become 90% revenue generating. Earlier and now also the corruption in DGCA is causing the regular fines in India, except Air India was never fined by DGCA when it was run by the government. Indian civil aviation ministry officials and DGCA officials are extremely upset at loosing the free Air India previleges for their families where the requests coming in for free upgrades are being denied by Air India. My understanding is the Mr Scindia and Mr Modi have been made aware about these practices and an investigation is going on to get to the root of the historical practices and the current state of affairs.
