I agree! I think this adaptation captures the mood of the first book (original novel) pretty well. The main characters are best mates 知己 that first connected with each other through their similar experiences. They didn't fall in love at first sight. Their fierce, assertive and independent personalities mean that it's not the type of romance where one side gets hit on all the time with overrated tropes of getting pushed to the wall or being caught in the other's arms as they "trip". This is more of a story about protecting and taking care of each other, being there through the tough times and cheering each other up. I think the boys mirror Su Yu's dad and Aunty Zhou's relationship - just because you can't see PDA doesn't mean it's not obvious they love each other.

The Episodes 11 and 12 were really very difficult to watch. These are the Episodes where ADDICTION ends and the story becomes completely new to all of us. 🤗 🥵 💘 We have WU BI's cousin MO YI (acted by 博尔吉特 - BO ER JI TE) coming over and testing the relationship between SU YU and WU BI. And we have also the despicable YE Wanying (acted by 金尤美 - JIN YOU MEI) creating all sort of fake situations to frame WU BI and to destroy his relationship with SU YU. This is going to be mostly WU BI's own fault... for not believing in SU YU and feeling powerless trying to kept that snake of YE Wanying away from SU YU. In the end the one suffering the most will be SU YU between the two battlefield fronts. In the first scene highlight here we have MO YI trying to give SU YU and WU BI a hard time... But this time WU BI stands strong and sets the limits to his tolerance. I am glad that SU YU hears everything... so on this matter there are no misunderstandings. IF he knew WU BI's words also before about them having their combine family together he would be reassure of why WU BI decided to lease this part of the house with two bedrooms for them to stay together as family in the same location next to each other. MO YI trying to create a discord between WU BI and SU YU in this scene highlight 0:01 does not work at all as he wanted.. because SU YU is able to see far beyond the hurting words WU BI's true intention. Intriguing in this scene sequence is MO YI's reaction as he is leaving at 1:10 - What is that smirk suppose to mean....??? 🤨 🤔 Is MO YI please to see that WU BI has found a place he feels completely of his own, and that he cares so much that he forces him to leave in a protective way...? OR is this a mean for MO YI to have something against WU BI for some reason we don't know yet...? Originally MO YI was satisfied having WU BI adoring him and only him completely, and even depending on him in many ways... but now having to share his "弟弟 - Dìdì - younger brother" with SU YU may not be something he is willing to accept so easily. We will have to see how this develops in the next block of Episodes. 😉 As the first crush of SU YU (YE Wanying) were not already a huge obstacle in WU BI's eyes, now also his cousin seems to be a dangerous issue because SU YU shows a special interest on him at 2:12 too 😂 😂 😂 Our poor WU BI... was really exploding from jealousy non stop in these Episodes... 🥵 😵‍💫 🥵 In this context we have here at 3:43 a REMAKE scene taken from ADDICTION Episode 14 (around minute 14.04 in the Web Huance Version); but this time WU BI takes action against SU YU's compliment right way... 😂 😂 😂 Even the sentence that SU YU uses here is almost the same that Bai Lou Ying said before: Bai Lou Ying: 人不能输风度嘛 - Rén bùnéng shū fēngdù ma = "People shouldn't lose their manners." SU YU at 4:00 - 输脸不能输风度啊 - Shū liǎn bùnéng shū fēngdù a = "While losing your face you shouldn't be losing your manners." 😂 😂 😂 This moment in Episode 12 really broke my heart at 6:19 The initial joy of WU BI having found out SU YU, hugging him right away, giving an apology and asking him to go back home together with him was beautiful, but then it didn't last long. SU YU has been telling WU BI that he doesn't want anything to do with YE Wanying... but then WU BI finds him sharing a motel room with her... who is lying on the bed....!! I could really hear WU BI's heart breaking into pieces as he walks away after telling SU YU in a cynical way at 7:32 你是好样的 - Nǐ shì hǎo yàng de = You have done really well. 😵‍💫 🥺 😭 It is very unfortunate to see that WU BI does not believe anything that SU YU says 6:12 when it comes to this snake because her tricks are really for an Oscar. WU BI realizes that later on again after falling into another of her traps.. out of his own stupidity. In the end this is something SU YU must realize all by himself in the next Episodes. 🤷‍♂️ I just hope that MO YI keeps his words to WU BI by the end of Episode 12 and makes YE Wanying pay the price for all of this with her life: MO YI - 那也只有一个下场 死 - Nà yě zhǐyǒu yīgè xiàchǎng Sǐ = There is only a way out: DEATH. 😈 ☠️ 🤐 My favorite moments from Episode 11. - SU YU wondering how could a bunch of harmless grapes brought by DUO DUO create such a distress on WU BI just because there is a memory involving YE Wangying years ago. THIS moment is one of the many pieces of WU BI's true love for SU YU puzzle, and the second open jealousy move of WU BI. The first one is at the restaurant as he squeezes a cola can that was still full completely trying to hold back his anger. - Seeing SU YU asking WU BI about meeting YE Wanying, or not. SU YU was really giving WU BI the opportunity to make clear that he didn't wanted him to meet her in any way, but our WU BI was so hot temperamental in that moment that he ended up totally blinded by jealousy and could not realize SU YU's real intention at all. 🥵 🤪 😂 😂 SU YU - 我都行 看你了 - Wǒ dū xíng / Kàn nǐle = I am fine either way / Is up to you. 😍 WU BI - 我觉得还是别 - Wǒ juédé háishì bié = I think that you shouldn't go. 🙄 In the end WU BI gave such a weak answer and SU YU did go to meet YE WAnying. Why does WU BI keeps a secret that the despicable snake YE Wanying is the girlfriend of his cousin MO Yi, when he knows the truth from the very beginning...? This stupid mistake creates so many problems, including an absurd and violent act by his own bodyguards over SU YU while he was meeting with YE Wanying.... something really unforgivable. The good part is that WU BI did not order those brainless bodyguard to do such thing. This makes him a lot different from GU HAI who order a violent and forced kidnaping on Bai Lou Yin in ADDICTION. But still.... The consequences of all of these mistakes are really hard to evaluate; but the only victim is the one person WU BI actually wanted to protect: SU YU WU BI had a chance to talk things out peacefully with SU YU later on at home ... but his hot temperament, his jealousy, and his lack of decisiveness being open and honest about his feelings just lead that chance to waste. My favorite moments from Episode 12. - When WU BI makes clear to that despicable snake YE Wanying in the karaoke sequence: 苏御 是我的 - Sū yù shì wǒ de = SU YU is MINE...! 🥵 😲 🤗 😍 😏 - When WU BI tells his cousin MO YI to get rid of YE Wanying once and for all. - The chat between Duo Duo and SU YU at the end of the Episode, when he finds out that WU BI has a secret crush on a schoolmate and is having a heart breaking time because of it. I wish we could have that entire talk Duo Duo had with WU BI to see how they talked about it, and how much informations they shared about it as well. At this point DUO DUO may be the first one to know that WU BI is in love with SU YU already... 😍 🤗 😉 The key of these last Episodes 11 and 12 is the increasing consolidation of WU BI's love feelings for SU YU. Having his cousin MO YI and SU YU's old crush YE Wanying breaking into his peaceful relationship with him brings him completely out of balance. Since this is his first time and because he does not know SU YU that long yet WU BI experiences a strong insecurity crises. And is not that he wouldn't want to believe in SU YU not willing to have anything to do with YE Wanying is just that what he finds out and the truth do not match at all. The peak of everything in the motel room sequence, and the punch he gets from SU YU later can only increase WU BI's insecurities as they all seem to mean that SU YU does like YE Wanying a lot. 🥵 At the end of Episode 12 we have SU YU putting is high IQ finally to work, and to think all what was going on, realizing that WU BI could not truly be interested in YE Wanying at all. The chat with Duo Duo about WU BI's schoolmate crush completes this thinking process. Now everything is up to SU YU once again... to make up with WU BI, and to talk with him in calm about everything to solve all of YE Wanying tricks and lies to split them both. It was not easy for KNOCK to find out all of the bad things PLERN PLENG did to separate him from KORN in the Thai BL Series "Together With Me" in a very similar way, so... I am wondering this time how SU YU will be able to unveil all of it on his own, since this part of the story is completely new to all of us, and we can't compare it anymore with ADDICTION to have any clues ahead. 🤨 🤔 Cheers...!

One scene that i really liked and isn't mentioned here is - When MO YI visits their home he says to SU YU that WU BI calls me "gege" you shouldn't call me by name it's disrespectful ,and then our sassy SU YU says : well even I am WU BI's gege but he calls me by name" that sounds like even tho I'm older WU BI is actually more close and intimate with me to call me by name.😆 Another doubt I have when SU YU and DUO DUO talked Abt her Convo with WU BI one thing she clears is that WU BI has a crush on a classmate just like she has a crush on her classmate .So maybe this relieves SU YU that it isn't Ye wanying. But when SU YU asks DUO DUO if her crush admitted to liking her she replies with smthng along the lines of - Doesn't matter I like many more people .Does that again causes insecurity to rise in SU YU's mind ?!? Like maybe he reads it as oh WU BI might have had a crush on me but he likes Ye wanying "other people" too. I am uncertain whether this talk with DUO DUO relived SU YU or caused him stress ?? 😮

@@ankitamaiti2641 You're welcome. The "older brother" conversation is indeed very interesting, as it shows that WU BI has arrived at a higher love level with SU YU. WU BI does not really want to have SU YU as a brother, but as someone way much closer emotionally to him. Calling him by his name, and not as his older brother, dissolves the family status barrier between them almost completely. This was an issue in the Thai BL Series "Lovely Writer" Episode 7, for example... with NUBSIB not wanting GENE to call him "younger brother" and treating him that way, creating an emotional distance between them. NUBSIB says there: "You know very well, that I don't want you to be my "older brother." I believe this is the same feeling WU BI has come to realize at this point. As for SU YU not wanting to use "gege" with MO YI it establishes as premise that he would have to own the right to be called that way. It is not like just because MO YI is WU BI's cousin he becomes automatically SU YU's "gege". In the end SU YU does not address MO YI in any direct way, but with an omitted and figurative use of YOU; or with YOU: 😏😂😂 喝点什么吗 - Hē diǎn shénme ma = (Do you) Wanna have something to drink. 我可以给你冲一杯咖啡 - Wǒ kěyǐ gěi nǐ chōng yībēi kāfēi = I can make YOU a cup of coffee. For the other idea on Duo Duo's answer... I think SU YU may be feeling that IF he was WU BI's classmate crush with all what has happened he may stop liking him. At this point SU YU was convinced that WU BI did not liked YE Wanying at all, but WU BI found him in a compromising setting at the motel with her. So... I believe that the possibility of a change of heart on WU BI due to the circumstances at such a young age is probably what SU YU fears the most in this key moment. In the end this conversation with Duo Duo gave SU YU more stress than relieve for sure. I bet SU YU was thinking: What if WU BI stops liking me because he believes I like YE Wanying...?? Unfortunately this last scene of EP 12 ends right there... so the possibilities of what SU YU is really thinking can't be determined for sure yet. EP 13 will gives us the answer. Cheers...!

While watching English translation in the series some of the nuances of the original langauge and dialogue are lost. So reading your interpretation gives another way to look at things ✨
