Yao Shun Yu is newbie, very naive & vulnerable when it comes to feelings that suddenly overwhelm him. He then came to the reallization that he loves ShangZhou but still doubt ( “ is this really happening and is it acceptable?”) thus tried to repress his own needs. He is like a frightened animal who run away to hide his feelings fighting his own demons.. He is not insecure, he just does not know his worth. Then the ultimate sacrifice he is willing to do to unburden & protect Shang Zhou. Great love story.❤️🥲👍

I just watch this the other day with tears in my eyes… I think some of you got it all wrong… the secretary knows that the boss loves him… he does not think he is good enough… so he feels that the boss’s feelings may not be “true”…this is more about the secretary’s insecurity… and we must remember the the President was hard to read in the beginning… love this show… done very well.
