Thanks for explaining this. I jusr got a new Gaggia Classic Pro and have been fighting to get decent shots. I'd love to see more about this and how to modify my machine.

Hi, Thank you for your comment. I link the favourite video of mine below, FYI - as a guide, how to temp surf stock a Classic. It is also an easy and inexpensive mod to fit such a thermometer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXe5haNqf8yia80

Thanks very much. That was very interesting and looks like with a bit of practice I might be able to remedy my temperature better.

Also, the spring mod to drop the pressure down to 9 bar. You can get the spring from Shades of Coffee in the UK. He ships international. I'm pulling much better shots now between the temp surfing and spring mod.

Thanks, I cut the spring and was pulling better shots. I've read and seen lots of material about temp surfing have ordered a dual probe temperature gage with a timer.

@@Noskunk4me Yes, Thanks for highlighting. Pressure is at least as important as the temperature. I'll have some videos covering that, soon.

Where do i get the pid and pressure gauge mounting enclosure like in this video?
@dreamvisionary3 жыл бұрын
Those temperatures are of the boiler housing and not the water. The temperature rise in the boiler housing will increase much more rapidly than that of the water within it. It would be interesting to see the temperature profile over the time of the pour to see how much it varies.
@BREWBETTER3 жыл бұрын
Very true, however this tiny boiler heats up the water really quick. I'm planning such a video for a long while, hopefully I'll have time to make it soon.

Hello friend. Are you sure the real water temprature is -8 C points before setting the PSB? Did you use a thermometer?

Hi Peter, do you by chance have the latest updates on this product launch? I am hoping to get the kit with PID from the US. Thanks!

Hi, I am working on the website, but it will probably take one more month and a week or two testing. By that time the 120V version should be available too. Kind regards Peter

Hey are you going to have this available for the 2019 Gaggia classic soon? What's your website? Do you know what that cost will be?
@BREWBETTER3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, Yes it'll be available for V1 and also the Pro within a few weeks on www.brew-better.com (the website isn't published yet) for the 240V market, and late July/mid August for the 120V market. I'm aiming to keep the price at £200+shipping (will be shipped from the EU and from the UK as well), however I can't confirm it yet. Kind regards Peter

Where does it read the pressure from? Inbetween pump and boiler or elsewhere? Are you still hoping to release for end of May? Including for the 240v Pro?
@BREWBETTER3 жыл бұрын
Hi, It is tapped between the solenoid outfeed and group head infeed to show actual brew pressure. I'm still awaiting on components to arrive, so I couldn't finish off the supporting materials, it shouldn't cause more delay than a week.

Where did you buy this black on-top housing? Is there a step by step instruction how to install the whole kit? Thanks!

Hi, It's an early prototype of the BoostBox. The finished product should be available by the end of the month with PID pressure profiler dimmer, pressure gauge, and LED lights above the water reservoir. There's also a version without a PID (if you already have one you can fit yours in the box). There is detailed photo illustrated installation guide and also a +2hrs video. Once I launch it, I'll upload some more videos on what it's capable of and how to use it. Kind regards Peter

Not yet, I'm in final stage of testing the version for pre 2015 models and hopefully launch the website by the end of the month covering all Classics (even the Pro) running on 240V and add the US versions in April.
