Sorry, but I do not know for sure. The top burr plate rests on the thread. The bean hopper has horizontal spikes that fix it in the corresponding grooves on the brass top burr plate. Fixation is quite reliable. The grinder can be used without additional fixation with screws. Therefore, most likely the bean hopper can be removed by simply lifting it.

@@IsaacOLEG They are good. You can use grinder burrs for Rancilio Rocky, Eureka Mignon MCI, Nuova Simonelli MCF and original part of course. I replaced my burrs with a burrs from Nuova Simonelli MCF. If the grinder is used only at home to make a small number of cups of coffee, the burrs will not wear out. Of course, if you do not damage them deliberately by turning on the motor at the minimum grinding setting. Then the burrs will blunt themselves.

I cleaned the machine, and noticed that the motor have zero play.. a little fitting for the distribution mechanism, (some cyano glue plus activator to rebuild and repair the cracked center, fine filling and a dab of lube) I am about to reinstall the burr plates. I wonder ,do I need some loctite to secure the screws ?( in that case I will not dismount them) both plates need to be changed I suppose, but I will try to file the old one(s) so to have sharp edges, while I wait for the new ones. It will be a light use , but if I can mount better quality plates I will. What are the eventual differences ? Material, shape, precision ? (Price !). PS the tape is only there to secure the thread so it does not turn too easily.? Cant we turn by hand the mobile part until the contact is perceived ,then make a mark if it was done without the cover. ? I thought of using a thin thickness jauge but space is probably not enough unless the gauge is folded in L shape with heat. Kind regards.

@@IsaacOLEG Teflon tape is used for stepless adjustment. With it, it is possible to set the degree of grinding between 4 and 5 for example. Manual fileing will damage the burrs. Just wait for delivery and install new ones. When installing the burrs no need to apply any adhesives or silicone.

Thanks! Do you really need this perfect 1 position? I mean, for espresso you dont really need that kind of grind. Jezva may be the case. In any case, you can configure the grinder after replacing the grinder burrs in several ways. One of them is by the sound. To do this, you must first lock the grinder burrs until the shaft stops spinning. And then gradually increase the grind until the shaft starts to spin freely. This will be the first position. It is in the video, 3:53. However, I would not recommend using this method, since with it you can damage the millstone. At least try to get to the shaft of the grinder and rotate it manually, without turning on the motor. The second way is to tighten up the upper bar assembly until it stops, then loosen it by one turn and grind some coffee. If grind is too coarse, reduce settings until the grind becomes as fine as it may be required. After that, cut the grind for another 1-2 steps and take it for the position 1.

telekaster thanks for good explanation, I make some mistake mounting the new mills and now the Gaggia works good with the Rancilio Miss Audrey Caffe machine Expresso . The coffe now is like the Bar ! Ciao

nah man 8) it's pointless. A coffee grinder is clean only when it is brand new and has never been used. and the dust does not bother me at all, so i am good.

why why why did you not clean it first - for the video, and to keep grounds off the threads while wrapping???

because it's useless. because a few particles of coffee will not be able to jam such a large thread. and because after cleaning, the coffee grinder will foul up to the same state after about 3-7 uses and will remain in it throughout all further use. tested on this particular grinder. but if you like, you can clean your grinders once a week for the purpose of meditation.

Tommy Burick well sometimes 5 is too fine and 6 is too coarse 8) Beans get dry over time and you may need to adjust grinder settings for consistensy. Try to use it without mods and install it when needed. Maybe you can afford new stepless and better overall grinder by that time. What is definitely a better option.

JooFighters I've tried. It didn't work somehow. And for me at least tuning step like it shown in the video turns out to be easier than marking point on burr assembly.

did not quite understand what you mean. The grinding steps show the distance between the millstones. 1 step is the minimum distance between the millstones at which grinding is possible. Or not. In the sense that these numbers are arbitrary and you can adjust the millstones as you like and then put a plastic indicator on top. When adjusting the grinding, you unscrew the upper part on which the millstone is fixed and increase the distance between the millstones. If you asked whether the distance traveled is increased by turning one step, then no. It remains exactly the same.
