Hi, I am the guy who did the Vautours description in the War Thunder Wiki. I must say, the description was even worst. The version that I submitted was much more critical towards the vehicle.

@@maxbennett5412 Not really, there are more than 800 vehicles still pending the new description format (1 section for history and the second for gameplay) so there is no reason to change it. Also the description is pretty accurate, is just that the first version was less professional when referring to the Vautour's armament

Yeah, Gaijin has a strong tendency of downplaying just how absolutely garbage some vehicles can really be. The Mosquito being a prime example of this, being that it has an atrocious flight model (despite being able to at least keep up with 109s IRL), and the armament by the way of guns and bombs is honestly flat out worse than a P-51. I've had better success using the I-153P as a ground attack aircraft and fighter plane than the mosquito.

Your guides are actually really useful, even in prop planes. I used the advice of climbing to ridiculous heights from a previous video to get behind everyone and basically used gravity to me to around double the speed of everyone else and ended up flying through a massive swarm of enemies, killing 3 and getting 5 assists (probably would have been closer to 5-6 kills, but the damage system is so broken and inconsistent in air arcade) and flew out before anyone realized what happened. This was in a P-39.

For the inevitable question about realistic, you can still kind of do this but you need to remember the radar will not work if there's terrain behind the target. Also the guns are harder to use because the plane has so little control authority its hard to aim accurately enough, make sure you bumrush the booster modification.

Still way better than the aim-9B. Wayyyyy better. You get FOUR matras and they can actually TURN and HIT enemies and are ALL ASPECT RADAR. The aim-9B is just a glorified head-on sarh missile chaff that may sometimes on a full moon double as an AA missile

You must have never flown a Vautour before. This thing is turbo garbage in regards to fighting jets. The missiles don't hit half the targets you shoot at even in ideal circumstances, you're utterly boned if you're forced to dogfight anything, and trying to hit moving targets who have even the slightest bit of brain mass is a Herculean task that makes you want to deepthroat the business end of a shotgun.
