You didn't mention at all about how Kusha has an effect on the weather in the areas its in. Granted this bit has been kind of sidelined since gen 4, but in gen 2 it was a major, major part of Kusha's lore/presence.

For real I love Monster Hunter since ps2 the first one. I played Monster Hunter 1 2 I bought a wii just for Monster Hunter Tri and Ultimate. I partitioned for it to come back to ps4 on Facebook it’s my number 1 game. I substitute Other games like God eater and Toukiden but it didn’t fill the crave for Monster Hunter but I’m glad it’s home on ps4

Teostra is my favorite monster in all the games I've played, so I'd root for him winning the Turf War, but in the sake of fairness it's difficult to say who'd win for sure. They both have a lot going for them. It would be really cool if Elder Dragon turf wars worked somewhat like a coin toss, with modifiers benefiting either side. I.E. Monster health state, environment the fight takes place in, or who notices who first. I doubt this will be the case. Either way, the hype is real!

Yes, i like the idea. But thinking about their weaknesses, Teostra is already in a huge advantage. Teostra should also only inhabit regions with a very high temperature and little to no humidity. So if he does leave his home territoy and follows Kushala he might acctually have a disadvantage. It's fun to think about those kind of scenarios. Thank you for your comment!

Aixial i think its simply based on the animation they made. Anja always wins against jagras, tah always beats anja at least in the specific turf war animation. However the barroth and jyura turf war hurts both of them, so it could be possible that teo and kush hurt each other as well

Kush armor set throws the fire aura out of the way. That's the armor set I use against teo and it works perfectly against him almost as if kush counters teo🤔

There's a lot more going for Kushala against Teostra, as they aren't truly "rivals" but part of a rock/paper/scissors trio along with Chameleos (who is absent from MHW). Even with the additions in 4th Gen, the trio still stood (MHGU even gave their respective G Armors the Anti-Kushala/Teostra/Chameleos Armor Skills that perfectly counter the aspects of the respective Elder Dragon). Kushala'a Wind Aura and Tornadoes blow away Teostra's Blast Clouds and fire (and Teostra is weak to Ice, also to Water if he melts the Ice. Dragon Wind also boosts Kushala's Fire resistance). Teostra's Fire Aura and Blast Clouds target Chameleos regardless of its hiding place (and Chameleos is very weak to Fire). Chameleos stays hidden from Kushala at all times as the winds won't completely blow away the fog, even if it wanted to, because Kushala is susceptible to Poison and will seal away its stronger winds (and since Chameleos is resistant against Ice and Raw damage, Kushala has nothing to defend itself with). However, unlike Kushala and Teostra, the Chameleos isn't really confrontational and is one of the more passive Elder Dragons along with Kirin and Yama Tsukami. Kushala and Teostra would definitely end up brawling it out, but Kushala would have the overwhelming advantage on ability alone. MHW just gets them to tackle each other a bunch until one leaves, but it's still pretty awesome to see two forces of Nature collide. :)

An enjoyable video, as always. The Kushala is one of my favorite Elder Dragons because it was considered such a big threat in 4U (unfortunately the Rusty in that battle was not all that great), and because it uses a modified version of the T. rex roar from the Jurassic Park films. However, if I remember correctly, Kushala's scales are the way they are due to being a kind of organic metal. And how they die naturally isn't a nice way to go either. From TV Tropes: "According to the Monster Hunter Illustrations concept art book, its limbs and soft tissues will slowly transform into the same organic metal as it grows older, interfering with its normal biological functions and eventually causing it to perish."

I wish the fights between Teostra and Kushala change the environment around them. Lore wise they can cause natural disasters simply by being in the area., so during fights they should drastically change the environment around them. Teostra's heat can melt the rocks around it to create lava flows and Kushala's wind can freeze the lava.

Gaijin Hunter I think you made a mistake on the Heavy Bowgun, it's styled after a sperm whale. Maybe there was a translation error but the gun is called delphinidae in english which references the whale and dolphin animal family. The stock actually ends in a fin like "tail"

For Teostra versus Kushala, I'm not sure if they'll make one "win" all the time; it'd kind of settle their rivalry somewhat, or at least unbalance it quite a bit. However, if one DID have to win... I'm leaning towards Kushala, for a couple reasons. One, Kushala's winds should be able to scatter Teostra's blast dust, at least in theory, which hinders one of Teostra's big weapons. Kushala seems like it should have an inherent edge in their fights, since one of its main weapons, at least in theory, should counter one of Teostra's. Two is more meta. When the Elder Dragon trailer came out and we saw Teostra and Nergigante fighting as well as Teostra and Kushala, I thought that, if any fellow Elder Dragon had a good shot at dealing with Nergigante (besides the really powerful things like Alatreon), it'd probably be Teostra. Its explosions should help it deal with Nergigante's hard spikes and blow them off despite the armor they provide, giving it a major edge, while something like Kushala's winds wouldn't be nearly as effective, and I think Nergigante's attacks should be strong enough to hurt Kushala even with its armored hide. So I was thinking in World, things might become a rivalry triangle. Kushala can blow away Teostra's blasts and flames, Teostra can blast off Nergigante's spikes, and Nergigante can just charge through Kushala's winds and slam the dragon down. I could be overthinking it, of course, and there's no proof that this is how things work, but if they DID finally give the Teostra and Kushala Daora rivalry a definite "winner", I think it might work out something like this.

if you're talking about the turf war: neither win. jyratodus wraps around barroth dealing around 500 damage, but then barroth gets jyratodus of it also dealing around 500 damage. other than that, I have no idea what you mean by "special move". the only special move I can think of is the turf war, and like I just said, they both receive damage when it happens, showing that they are about as strong as each other. I think the exact same will happen with elder dragons. they bth deal damage.

I like to think the horns on its head sense the air currents so it always knows how and when it’s able to make small tornados. Since monster hunter is science fiction it’s fun to theorize how the monsters work. Like ishvala pushing air currents through the sand to make quick sand.

I was really happy when I saw the Rusted Kushala, since in MH4U I remember there was this one peculiar Kushala that I couldn't seem to beat, and always did the same thing at the start, which was triple tornado right as we start. So when I fought the Rusted and it did the triple thing at the start I immediately began thinking, "Oh shit, it's you!" And immediately got wrecked by it. It wasn't until I got really used to it that I was able take it down. And from 2 games I finally took down what I considered for a while my rival, the thing that drove me to keep playing the game

I feel like they're too afraid to declare a winner in most situations in world. In example flying things should just be able to stay high up and bombard other monsters, or glavenus should just be able to slice things in half. Stuff like that.

I'm brand new to Monster Hunter, jumping into Monster Hunter World. It's interesting to hear the background, filling in the gaps. I am proud to say that I defeated Kushala Deora on my first try, solo, with the insect gave, with 2 carts, 5 minutes left, and less than a quarter hp left. Never doing that fight alone every again.

In MH4U, you could always tell if you were hunting with scrubs when this quest got activated. Veterans would all switch to poison weapons and and armor sets with wind res. And scrubs would go in with whatever was on their back. I always rocked my chameleon switch axe, and my rusted K.D. Armor when taking this guy down.

In fact the biggest anti Kushala scrub team was made of full Chameleos armor and his bugstick users (which was pretty common) One (not retarded) user of Chameleos glaive is enough to keep Kushala poisoned all the time without status attack up, with poison you don't need wind resistance and you have earplugs from IG.
