She’s mourning on stage, it’s so moving, powerful. Her voice is beautiful, great. She also starts the vocal a moment after you’d think would be the beat, like he always did live.

Can't help feeling this must have been a tough one for Gail to sing. She is singing David's requiem to himself. But she has the class.

She did him great. She loved their friendship so much. She loves him so. I love her so much. And yes she was a very lucky musician who was chosen by The Great One. She got to spend a great chunk of her career with him. Talent, and Luck. I wish her the best.

Gayle. When you sit down at the start of the sax solo. Is the emotion I sense you are feeling, from the the intensity of the written song which you sang so gloriously. The beauty of the Sax Solo you know is coming. Or are you thinking - "God-dammit - David should be singing this' ? OR - a very likely possibiility - All of the Above? Whichever - - Exquisite. Simply. Exquisite.

Brought tears to my eyes. Gail Ann sings this so beautifully, with such emotion & heartfelt sorrow. It must have been so painfully hard for her. I know David must be so proud looking down on her, listening to her sing his song. They were amazing together. I love the two of them singing "Absolute Beginners" .... especially when he takes her shy little face and turns it towards his, so sweet.

Wow, truly wonderful and deeply moving. Well done Gail, Donny and all the band for managing to perform this in David's memory. The pain and feeling is there for everyone to see, it must have been incredibly difficult to do and David would be so proud of you all for such a wonderful tribute. I cannot imagine how you all must have been feeling, it was hard enough for me watching this from the comfort of my computer screen at home as I struggled to hold back the tears of emotion. God bless you Gail for all these lovely tributes, I hope that you are soon on the road to recovery from your recent illness and so sorry to hear of the recent loss of your good friend and fellow musician Jay Medley. That must have made it even harder to perform under the circumstances, Peace, love and good health to all of you, John Racher xxx

Bowie is so generious to his peel musicians, brought up so many fellows when they were not in the lime light. Luther vandross, ava cherry, tin machine band mates, blondie, stevie ray vaughan , gail ann, mott the hoople, placebo, N this jazz quartet. Give them chance to shine. While tina turner, iggy pop needed to resurrect their careers, bowie was there, making their best records in their life.
@shaggydog97893 жыл бұрын
Just curious, why are Blondie included in that list? I don't think that Bowie ever collaborated with them like the other artists on your list.
