I know the depression the lost feeling, and the question why? My late mom said, "Never give up your independence." I did and I paid for it. But can say you have a spirit of ok I've cried now let's get busy. The same as me. I've been retired for almost 10 years. And have had my independence since 1986. Young lady don't look back, make it happen for yourself. I raised my son ( not my husband's child) by myself also, you are not alone. Many have walked the path you are walking. You are so right. I am guessing that this young person is a teenager or young adult. So many parents turn a blind eye on mental health issues that involve their child. With the mass violent that’s goes on in this country with mentally ill perpetrators ,parents have to be really diligent in making sure their child gets the help they need.

I understand, I went through the same thing with my ex-husband and step-son. They both had mental issues/abusive behavior towards me, stole my bank card, held me hostage in my car, tried to make me fall out of my wheelchair, etc.. so I had to file for a divorce and my ex dragged it out for 4 years delaying the divorce. he didn't want the divorce, so I get harassing phone calls from Bahrain where he fled too.

I'll be upgrading soon, Abiyah. 3 of my kids are adults, and my youngest 8 is with his dad. My 13 year old is still with me, but the relief of being able to just be and find your place and space. I'll be 40 next month and I'm excited for my birthday, and upgrading. Ive been wanting to travel for awhile. If you want to get back on the road and earn, try transcriber jobs, voice acting through audiobooks, search engine evaluating, and selling digital prints. No experience required. I just cant go back to paying rent and bills anymore. Too stressful. Plus after dying Nov 24th and having to be hospitalized with blood transfusions for 2 days. I'll pass on anything causing me stress as always. I've nevwr suffered depression and i didnt want to every have to. Thats why I'm retiring next month at 40. Frugal, minimalistic, simply but with regard to quality. Hugs and best of luck
