Amazing conversation. Jill's descriptions really communicate these concepts so well and Emmy's questions are perfection. Very enjoyable ❤

Aw, the clip at the end with Lolly is adorable! 😍 That's kind of similar to how I came across my two cats, Lana and Duchess: I decided I wanted a cat again, so I went to the local shelter to look around. The instant I opened the door to the cat area, two cats immediately started meowing earnestly at me. I looked down at their cage and saw there were these two little kittens, begging for my attention. I asked if I could play with them, and we went into the little play area and they were SOOO sweet and playful, and they seemed so happy to see me. I knew I needed to bring them home, so I filled out the adoption paperwork immediately. Animals are the best, and when there's a connection, you just know. Thank you, Dr. Bolte Taylor, Emmy Vadnais, and the NTA team, for another lovely and insightful interview!

I couldn't resist including that clip at the end of the credits. Lolli came it right at the time we were starting to talk about being in the present, which many animals help us to do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story about how you and your cats found each other! So heart-warming! -Emmy Vadnais, CoHost

So many incredibly poignant and thoughtful moments and insights in this entire interview -- but here's a piece of advice that really stuck out to me because I'd never heard anything like it before: 47:48 to 48:49 : "When visiting a sick loved one in the hospital, instead of staying for an hour or three and draining their energy, stay for just a few minutes of intense love, giving them intense loving and healing energy in those few minutes, and then LEAVE! These sick people are not capable of having an intense and dramatic conversation with you, and talking at them may just drain their energy and make it harder for them to recover."

Wow, this is a video i really had to take a break in between because the information density is so high. There's no stepping back or meta consideration to notice information has to sinc in or to have a break.

(This needs a Part 2!) What about a Physical State of lesser degree, (with a different cause factor), but that also places one "outside their standard being of self": ie: unable to focus and follow through, (a more Cognitive fog state) and ... A) when there's an Absence of love, reassuring support, and ... B) an absence of any family/friend in the understanding of the patient's challenges: What would be the recommended course? 2) Same scenario, but any family or friends judge the individual to be failing to do what they did, should be doing, "basically judging them" and this causing the patient to judge themselves, feeling failure, and going in that direction of unworthy feelings". What would be the recommended course? Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist and Historian Note to self: (a rethinking with the application of the "U-LOA" points.)
