He, my Mom and I were ALL baptized by the same preacher, in the same place, in a country lake, over a period of 25 years, as the same church family sang this song. When I hear it, I see that water...and I know Daddy's waiting just across on the other side. Lord, come quickly.

My best friend died a year and a half ago. He was only 45. We were die-hard Rams fans. He was a devout Christian and I'm a secular Jew. But I have always have loved this song and I sing it for Joe before I go to sleep once a week. Rams are back in Los Angeles, Joe. He passed on just 2 days before the official announcement by the NFL. But Joe is resting in peace and I remain good friends with his son, dad, and his sister. Yes, Joe, May the saints gather at the river.

My brother in JESUS OUR LORD AND KING, past away (went Home) we had no internet so I sang this to him as best I could He could not talk, He wrote on his board that he and I would meet at the river. 3 hrs later he passed. I lost my dad May 1989. I was with him in the hospital day and night in the hospital where he gave his life to and died. At his death two angels came and took him away.
