Ms. Doris Ackers wrote this song back in 1957. She is sitting in with them while they are playing and singing the song she wrote. She does not get the recognition she deserves. She was an anointed woman of God. She played piano and wrote music and directed choirs. But most of all she loved the Lord. I just recently heard other gospel music that she wrote. What a blessing to the kingdom that she was. Rip Ms. Ackers.

When i was 13 years old, my mom took us (my brother and me) to New York. We came from a small town in France, north east, in countryside. We played guitar, drums, saxophones.. listened to blues music, Afro American music and many more genres. No need to say we were amazed by our trip. On a Sunday morning, my mom decided to show us a gospel in Harlem. We were the only white people in front of the church, and we waited with everybody else. They didn’t let us come inside, because we were white foreigners. We completely understood, respected this situation and never been offended . But when I’m watching this, I’m crying. It might be so amazing to see this in real life. Music, people, and love. We don’t have this in french churches. Thanks for this video !

Finally over, stage goes dark and Nothin from Nothin blasted out snd the crowd went crazy!!! George had a cold might as well not have showed up, he sounded horrible. Boo, Billy showed up a living Beatle! Now I know why...he has Jesus on his side. Didn't know he was singing gospel. So happy to hear this❤

"...he has Jesus on his side" ??? Seriously? THAT's your idea of Christianity? Taking sides...? Either we are ALL God's children, or... or WHAT? THAT, THERE, what you just said, as if it were a football game with winners and losers, is why I will NEVER be a Christian. Because you damn people who don't behave/believe as you think they ought. A really powerful belief is that EVERYONE is loved equally by a Loving God. But apparently that is too evolved for you.

Someone stated that this is PRAISE AND WORSHIP. Indeed, IT IS!!! It has been around a long, long, long time, even as far back as ancient Africa. Africans knew how to worship and praise the Lord dating back centuries in the Motherland. Our ancestor brought that soul and inspiration here to the U.S., the islands of the Diaspora, and so on. Wow, this is so REAL, so AUTHENTIC! It is so sad that a number of black churches stopped singing these soul-stirring hymns, spirituals, traditional gospel, and so on, and removed their (baby) grand pianos and Hammond organs and replaced them with electronic keyboard synthesizers that are so loud that they break the sound barrier. And the "groups" that are singing for the congregation (or rather, "audiences") as the choirs are "SAT DOWN," (okay, I won't go into that).

@Connor Fritsch Have you considered why such music puts a tear in your eye? Christian virtues are great. Jesus says, loving God, and Loving thy neighbour are the 2 greatest commandments; but the core of Christianity is Jesus' self-sacrificial love for us. Jesus lay down His life for you. This is why, 'you can't beet God's giving'. The Bible says: 'And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God'. 1 John 4:16 If you believe in Jesus, that He can save you from wrath to come, by dying for your sins on the cross and you trust in Him to save you and not your own works, and you believe this in your heart, the bible says you are saved; a Christian. What is stopping you from believing? Hope you get this message, God bless, Louis

man, the world owes a huge debt to the black church for such glorious music and sentiment .i've been soaking in this most of the arvo and it's just lifting me SO high. i even have hope now that i can jump to where i want to go . right into the heart of god .i'm vey mindfull and thankful that i'm a recipient out of the redemptive suffering you guys have had to endure . i will turn all things for good etc. so this is part of the good that god's bringing out of what you've suffered. as jonas nightingale ( steve martin) proclaimed in "leap of faith" .THANKYOU JESUS. this is what comes out of being refined by fire .you get to be in the exalted position and status of being "a trophy of grace " the main vibe i'm finding SO inspiring and feeding on ,that comes through the music and atmosphere . is ."no matter what the enemy comes up with through circumstances and or man ,nothing can prevail against us . we have authority over ALL the works of the enemy ." of course providing we seek god for his strategy in how to deal with problems when they jump out of the bushes and catch us unprepared and off guard . these guys have the atmosphere and energy of "resting " in the faith and just being joyful because they know what they have . and can draw on it when needed . because they've already done so successfully just to be there . what a blessing thankyou again . also when you look closly there are so many spiritual truths and principles being demonstrated .one i noticed is billy demonstrating "this is what i can do for god and really letting loose ." and this sparks up the ladies who say "go billy"with their encouragment .{ to them that have more will be given and to them that don't have ,even that will be taken away " }

This song is so anointing, I get happy every time I hear this song. I'm going through something right now, but I know the ""LORD WILL SEE ME THROUGH"" I have a cyst on my thyroid, and I can't get the doctor to remove it. I have tried so many times without any results. My primary doctor has summit so many clams to my insurance telling them that the cyst needs to be removed, still they have denied me. I don't think it fair, I have good insurance I don't understand what's the problem. It has began to bother me, sometimes my throat pretty bad, I can't sing like I used to sing, and I used to be a great singer. So I have put it all in the hands of the "" LORD"" because I know he will make everything all right. That's why you can't beat ( GOD GIVING NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY) HE HAS NEVER FAILED ME YET!! I keep thanking GOD FOR HIS HEALING!! I KNOW HE WILL SEE, AND MAKE EVERYTHING ALRIGHT AMEM! I LOVE CALLING ON THE NAME JESUS!!

I had the wonderful experience of singing in a couple of major black gospel choirs in the 70s. it was a beautiful transcendent experience, the music alone can save your soul. Billy Preston and most soul singers have a church background, that is why they sound so great. They may leave for a while to do professional work but they can also go back home to church.
