@animefool2226 күн бұрын
Meh, handlers visiting gorillas orangutans tigers lions elephants cheetahs wolves bears etc reintroduced to the wild and being greeted with the love of a family welcoming their soldier home. Animals definitely know affection, but loyalty is a crapshoot. That said I have come face to face with two wolves together and three coyotes together while hiking alone. Intimidating because I was outnumbered and even one would be a monumental fight for me, but coyotes and timber wolves are not particularly aggressive unless they are rabid or starving.

Oh for the love of ... You could enter a dense asteroid belt, choose your course at random, and not hit anything. If we used astronomical terms in something like forestry we could say a tree in north america and a tree in australia constitute a dense forest. Going into an asteroid belt to hide is a fantasy. Any debris field of significant size to lose a ship in would already have collapsed into a moon or planet.

I'm sure you are also aware elves aren't really and I hate to bring it up if it's a shock - Santa isn't real either. And yet billions are spent every year playing pretend they are. It's a story. You have no issue with, oh, GIANT FREAKING SPACE PUPPY but you are stumbling on the ability of, somewhere in the future, people figuring out how to not smear themselves across space gravel. Honestly, the space puppy feels more unlikely. Something that size is gonna eat a VWBug a day in space kibble, not some ration bars. Not unless the rations came WITH the car.

Why do some people still refer to baby wolves as cubs? Perplexity: The term "cub" is often used interchangeably with "pup" when referring to baby wolves, but there are specific reasons why some people still prefer to call them cubs. Terminology and Usage 1. Cultural Influence: The term "cub" is commonly associated with larger wild animals, such as bears and big cats (like lions and tigers), which may lead to its use for wolves as well. This association can create a tendency for people to refer to wolf babies as cubs, especially in casual conversation or media portrayals. 2. Misunderstanding of Species: Some individuals may not be aware that the correct term for a baby wolf is "pup." This confusion arises because "cub" is a more familiar term in the context of other mammals, leading to its incorrect application to wolves. 3. Historical Context: The use of "cub" for wolf offspring might stem from older literature or folklore where wolves were often grouped with other wild animals. While "pup" is the scientifically accepted term, the historical usage of "cub" persists among certain groups or in specific contexts . Biological Facts • Correct Term: The scientifically accurate term for a baby wolf is "pup." Wolves belong to the Canidae family, which includes domestic dogs, and their young are specifically referred to as pups. • • Development Stages: Wolf pups are born blind and deaf, relying on their mother for nourishment and protection. They grow rapidly and start exploring their environment within weeks, eventually transitioning from milk to solid food. In summary, while "pup" is the correct term for baby wolves, the continued use of "cub" can be attributed to cultural influences, misunderstandings, and historical context surrounding wildlife terminology.
@SebastianDPunktАй бұрын
In simple i would say, most people didn't know or care about the specifics on some words and use what is common in usage. Either it is used correct or not. Its like calling all paper towels used to clean the nose "tempo" even if its not produced by the "tempo companie". Or plastic bulding bricks calling lego, even if its not produced bei lego... And for the story its not necessary to be this specific in wording. The gist and what is meant is clear if you use cub or pup.

There are a few credibility issues with the story and the moral is a bit too obvious. But I hope its a metaphor. Because we really need to, as a species, improve our relationship with wolves. Including direwolves, they may not be completely extinct. We need wolf sanctuaries here on earth.

Yeah, I think the AI-generated image of the direwolf limited the way we interpreted what the author intended the direwolves to look like. Even though I considered that alien direwolves might logically have features like opposable thumbs or other unusual traits for canines, my mind kept reverting back to the AI image every time.

The basic story idea is good, but the execution is piss poor. This is what drives me nuts about AI generated story channels. There is no editing done to fix obvious plot holes, when doing so would make them actually good. First, what Jon did abandoning his military assignment is called desertion. He wouldn't NOT be held responsible for that. It would involve a prison sentence. Military service is NOT a democracy. Second, how does a wolf drink from a canteen? All Jon had to do was, call his friend in sooner. She could have come in with supplies for the wolves. He gets the wolves conditioned to trusting his friend, which would have reduced the time he had to spend away with the wolves. So, with him having separate supplies for the wolves and spending less time away from base, his command would have been kept in the dark. His friend could have then quietly transported the wolves off world. And he could have returned to Earth without incident. He then could have put in his papers to leave service and then travelled to where the wolves were taken. And thirdly, what does the whole 'how they treat sentient species' have to do with anything? Wolves are not sentient. And nothing in the story indicated this specific wolf species was either. And lastly, how the Hell did he know the wolf mother's name? The wolf mother's name is established before Jon finds her. There isn't anything in the story that would have led to Jon learning her name, yet he does. Fixing these few things with very basic editing would have made this an actually good story. I just don't understand why you can't give even a minimal amount of effort. Any moron can give a story idea to AI and immediately publish, but with probably less than an hour of editing and you have a far superior product. Which would bring in more viewership. Will remember this channel, will skip in the future.
