Galactic Paragons BREAKS Stellaris With This One Combo! | Stellaris Gameplay / Meta Build

Hope you all enjoy this video! Working on a full Playthrough likely for next week as I posted these smaller videos! :)
Honestly in this run I did NOT do things optimally, so many choices could have been chosen better! Yet still the power level reached was utterly amazing and It was an insanely fun run!
As for the difficulty settings, I always play with mid-game scaling with mid game being very early at 2250 - This makes the game flow better (In my opinion!) As the AI gain the max difficulty benefits over time and you don't end up with massive vassal-ruler groups all over the galaxy which tends to happen without scaling.
I mention this as without scaling this build would struggle more early on, still doing great but not getting the HUGE bonuses of multi-vassal play! To counter this however the vassals you WOULD get would be far stronger and give more resources, making It more risky but perhaps would be EVEN stronger If you got lucky/played well!

I played with void dwellers and recruited governers until my empire size reached 0 then i upgraded my 50 habitats to acencion level 10 activated all edicts and finished all agendas it also felt like cheating in infinite unity

Void dwellers also can let you recruit a bunch of leaders that stack ship building modifiers, it’s possible to get -90% construction cost before 2030 it’s unbelievably broken

Run idea: The lonely mind. A hivemind that is... lonely. It wants friends, it wants to be actually and for real to the end, nice to its friends. So you would not be allowed to parasite or otherwise be "mean" to any allies or vassals, and would attempt to befriend anything that can be befriended, but are otherwise allowed to minmax and super hivemind yourself. Even if it may at times be for the sake of channeling resources into whichever friend is in need of a helping hand at the time. Be the most cuddly, adorable, and helpful hive mind ever. While abusing leader cheese to be able to handle this, and taking advantage of every mechanic that can simultaneously help both you and one of your allies.

Just a heads up, at 26:40 when you attacked that station, the reason it “turned against you” is because the station had (basically) ZERO hull points and yet it had 120-150k on defense platforms! Even if you fail to kill all defense platforms, as soon as the station has no hull points, it converts to your side and the defense platforms are now fighting FOR you rather than against you!

And, same I said with the last one... I'm happy because I get to enjoy more Stellaris content, but still bummed, because I really love the full playthroughs! I just really start getting into the playthrough, and the Empire/traits/civics/ascension perks/traditions/etc/etc...and BAM, it just ends, ya know? But I understand. These are just 'Test Play's. The test/peek videos are pretty fun. Apparently you can use similar methods here to get your empire size to zero with hive minds; noticed a few people in the comments doing it via Void Born origin even faster, apparently.

Actually, this makes sense. Imagine a hivemind species that continues to grow, becoming more intelligent the longer it lives - it is like adapating to your surrounding. Thats amazing roleplay and finally a good way to play hives :P

progenitor is my favorite origin anyway... granted as a hive mind, there isn't a lot of options anyway, and this update / DLC made it even better. i like the "randomly find more resources" or "randomly find more research" on my explorers, it said 5% chance, but it was going off all the time. someone else showed that if you have 50 governors you basically get an empire sprawl of zero... so you can take all the edicts and free planetary ascension... BUT you want to get all your leaders to max level first, because they stop gaining ANY xp at the same time, plus if any leaders die, you'll be stuck with a level 1 (or 2 with that civic) leader to replace them. granted you could hire all those governors, ascend all your planets to max level while running all edicts, then fire a good share of the governors.

I find stacking edict discount council trait extremely powerful in early-mid game. It's easy to get 3 of them or even 4 if you are lucky, and then you can run both energy and mineral boost edicts while not going over edict fund even without +100 fund AP. It's also helpful in lategame where you can spam ambitions.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who instantly thought that progenitor hive would be very powerful now. I've been playing with this origin and been having a lot of fun. It's insane how quickly the leaders level.

The best way to fix this that I can think of is having caps on certain abilities. Letting them still stack, but having them stack until say, a 20% cumulative empire size decrease or such. Something significant or even game-changing, but not a flatout cheat like -90% ship build cost.

Turning on automation and only having amenities ticked while playing a hivemind has been working really nicely for me. The AI only opens up the job slots enough to get into the positives. Haven't seen it do anything stupid yet.

Console peasant here, I do wish there was a little bit more to the assimilation mechanic hives can unlock/assimilators have, specifically in tandem with becoming galactic emperor. It’d be interesting to be able to force member states to assimilate as an end-goal type of policy.

Delete, Enter. Works on Starbase modules as well. Be careful though, if you don't select a module, it downgrades or deletes the whole starbase.

You can choose what trait your ruler starts with at the end of empire creation, eye for talent is just the default option.

Oh I'm aware as I did change them in the previous video and showcased doing just that! :) I went with eye for talent on purpose in this build as I wanted to max out leader leveling. What you can do when you have a bunch of vassals is take the diplomacy civic, so you can make federations, then free one of your really weak vassals, release them and form a federation with them. That immediately puts all your vassals into the federation, then kick that one other non vassal member out of the federation then re-vassalize them. As long as all your vassals don’t have independent diplomacy then you are in sole control of all federation things. Then you can renegotiate with all the vassals and tell them they don’t have to join you in any war, and you will help them in all their wars. But since they can’t vote in the federation they can’t declare war on anyone, and anytime you declare war they all join in anyway.

To be honest, I don’t like them removing the need to assign a scientist for Eng/Phs/Sci in order to research. Especially for Hiveminds, as it removes so much flavour for autonomous drones. Normal empires also now don’t have a reliable way to train scientists either, or rush down a certain tech path if you’re that kind of player

Just go with Difficulty adjusted AI Modifiers and super Early Mid-Game Skaling and 25x all Crisis. That should be quite challenging. Even for you.

It's part of the latest update, so you can see more at a glance how powerful a fleet is - rather than all fleets above 2k look the same.

@@frylad Not that I've seen, but would be interesting to know. I was hoping they would redo the numbers which translate to certain numbers of stars, rather than just add on more stars to bigger numbers. Less than 3 is nothing, and 3 stars is between nothing and max size fleet. But it's certainly an improvement now.

how do you choose your leader traits? Is that specific to the DLC? I haven't picked up paragons yet, but when my nodes level up, they just acquire traits, I don't get to select traits.
