The Radian Tripod is a sturdy tripod for astrophotography that can hold about 55 pounds of payload. It has several nice features that I go over in this video and overall feels really nice. One of the best things about this tripod is that it is very lightweight and easy to carry.

The hook is so you can hang a weight (like backpack) to stabilize the tripod.

Yes that tripod can be also a video tripod as what makes a tripod a still shooting or video tripod is the head used and not the tripod, so that tripod removable plate has a 3/8 screw on it so if your Orion tripod head is removable it will thread on to that Radion tripod as that tripod is a standard Carbon Fiber heavy duty tripod used in photography. Their are many carbon tripods on the market for $350-$1500 in that size, so carbon tripods are a 10x carbon fiber legs and the less costly are like 6x or 8x carbon fiber layers.

Looks so well machined and beautifully finished. I would normally stay clear of light tripods as they tend to be not a steady but this one looks good.

Beautiful tripod! You may already know but I was advised multiple times by the salesman at the camera store NOT to over tighten the leg extension clamps on my CF tripod. Dude said it like 5 times, sounds important 🤷‍♂️
