The implication is Galactus simply absorbed a helpless Unicron into himself, as killing him traditionally wouldn't stick, while nulling the threat he posed as a conscious being. This would make sure that Unicron's energy would still exist, as it is evil and death incarnate, but permanently bound to Galactus's being and incapable of harming anyone again. He's still 'alive', but completely stripped of agency and conscious will and won't be getting out anytime soon, and by the rules of Death Battle, the loser of this match.

@@schizzo8959 Dormammu is still a similar sort of entity, so it still counts. Dormammu is the ruler of the Dark Dimension, an entire plane of reality that Dormammu holds complete control and dominion over. And yet Galactus still consumed him without much issue. Dormammu himself is a sort of magical/cosmic entity, but even he failed to best Galactus. Unicron was absurdly powerful, yes. But he still pales in comparison to Galactus, who had at least two ways of ending Unicron for good: either consuming him (which is how the DeathBattle actually ended) or using the Ultimate Nullifier. As a general rule, Marvel, DC, & Dragonball are in a league all their own, and unless they are fighting each other, chances are very good that they are going to come out on top.

More than anything, I just wanted this Death Battle to powerscale Unicron properly; so many people just assume he's a big robot that eats planets and has no other powers. This Death Battle has made a lot of people take Unicron, and therefore Transformers as a whole, a lot more seriously, so I'm pleased as punch.

Marvel published two Transformers comics in the eighties one in the US and one in the UK. Marvel's Bob Budiansky came up with the names and profiles for the Transformers although it was Denny O'Neill who came up with the name Optimus Prime. Marvel Productions also co-produce the eighties Transformers cartoon.

Its actually the other way around. There are various Transformers universes without a Unicron and he hasn't been a multiversal singularity for nearly a decade. 616 Galactus on the otherhand is part of the natural order and his death would cause things to go very wrong.

Basically Unicron knows that Ultimate Nullifier can destroy Galactus and try to possess that device like what all Transformers do to any technology, but UN is part of Galactus so merging with it is allowing yourself to merge with fraction of Galactus power. and He also hide in pocket Dimension when Unicron used it.

Yeah one of the major things I thought Galactus had going for him was that he feeds on all types of energies. There's no reason to suggest that he wouldn't have been able to just feed off of Unicron, which it looks like he did.
