Man i swear comedian actors are soo underrated. Actors who do comedy are the ones who have a larger range. Even vadivelu was underutilized. When we see other industries such as Hollywood we can see their best actors include comedians like robin Williams, jim Carrey even Bryan Cranston was initially doing comic roles i guess. Thanks to vetrimaran identifying soori as a character actor.

As Soori mentioned, it's directors who bring out the different side of an actor and I believe Vetrimaaran has identified that in Soori and brought it out. Even directors could have explored such dimensions from comedians like Vadivelu, but it somehow didn't happened. Nagesh Sir has done villain roles, character roles as well. Same goes for comedians like Thengai Srinivasan Sir, V K.Ramaswami Sir. Even Goundamani Sir has done villain and character roles too. Wish Soori get to do variety of characters and as audience we should enjoy those other dimensions of his acting in those characters.

Reminds me of Salim Kumar (Malayalam comedy/character actor's) journey. He also started as a full-out comedy actor. Adaminte Makan Abu showed everyone his true range and now he is brought in as a character actor mostly and sometimes has his own "mass entry" scenes.
