Galaxy A12 Screen Replacement/Frame Replacement - Send heat to the void

My A12 had a broken screen. I noticed my neighbor had an A12 not being used. He said it wouldn't turn on and that I could have it, so I figured I could make 1 working phone from mine & his (actually was his girlfriend's). It was a bad charging port so I replaced it with mine. It started charging and after a few minutes it powered on.His girlfriend couldn't remember her password or the Google account used when the phone was set up for her. I reset the phone but couldn't go through the setup Because of the FRP lock. So, I swapped out the main board but was still getting the same 'Welcome' screen. It wouldn't accept my Google account info. So even though it was my main board and charge port I was still getting message that I need to sign in with one of the Google accounts that synced on that phone. The KZbin videos to unlock the FRP are so convoluted , they just wasted my time. I heard the unlock apps you have to pay for are a scam and it would just be cheaper to buy a new replacement screen and replace the working one but I am worried that the FRP may have loaded something on my main board that will prevent me from resetting and setting up the phone even though it wouldn't have any parts from my neighbor's phone. Any suggestions?;Do you know a reputable site that sells real unlock solutions?

None of the unlock services are reputable and as you've seen many are downright scams. If it's your main board it will be your google account, there's no possibility the two got merged or overwritten at all as the charging port doesn't hold any data or information like that. The only problem I could foresee would be their charge port being from a different carrier and not allowing your SIM to work properly.

Thank you for a perfect video I fix my phone and was able to save money, got to learn something new. I had to improvise and use my wife's heating pad for the battery yes it took a little longer but worked great no bends in the battery no damage. Awesome thank you again

Just finished fixing my phone, followed the steps. - I used a microwave heatpad and set it on it. - I had to hold down the power button and the down volume button once I was done to get it to boot. Not sure why... - First I tried re-assembling it, because I thought I didn't plug the screen in firmly enough or something. Thanks so much for the video!

My A12 has the exact same visible numbers as this one; even the SM_A022F on the ribbon cable. You replaced it with SM_A125F. I'm guessing this number doesn't have to match the model number, as I've seen 022/125/127 being used on A12's. This has been a dilemma for me, but seeing this, I'm more confident that A125F will work.

So back when this phone came out Samsung didn't always match model number and name, and this leads to some very confusing part orders. The biggest thing you need to match is the main ribbon cable, Samsung at least seems to keep these visibly different enough to match to your original. Also the A02 number on the ribbon just feels like Samsung is trolling us. Good luck on the repair!

It gives it a larger surface area to dissipate heat into the backing. Not likely that it needs a lot of heat dissipation, and also not likely that dissipates a lot of heat so match made in heaven, really.

Sometimes the speaker can crack when removing it, but it most likely just needs some extra adhesive under it

Need help. I just replaced my A125F screen but after everything was assembled the screen won't respond properly, it has colored lines, and the screen is moves by itself. Could it be caused by a malfunctioning battery if I did damaged it in the process of removing it?

No, unfortunately that's the sign of a damaged display or ribbon connector for the display. Could be just a loose connection, defective, or damaged

I'm gonna repair my a12 but I'm not sure where to get the adhesive strips for battery. Can you help tell me where to get some?

Honestly you can use any kind of thin double sided adhesive. I use TESA tape that can be found online, but an arts and crafts store should have similar. The battery is going to be sandwiched by the back panel, so it isn't going to fall out but you will want to keep it from rattling around.

It relies on little gold springs from the charging board to connect, if they aren't aligned or the springs are bent it may not work. You'll have to check that the gold springs are touching the speaker

New display shows up at 2:41. The video description explains the replacement part is a display and frame assembly, which is a much more reliable and cost effective repair than trying to replace just the glass and display.

After a repair? Could be that main connector got loose when reassembling, or something popped off the charging board during removal. I usually assume it's just something that needs reconnection, but sometimes it could need to be replaced

Perfect replacement on my end. Thank you very much for this video! Only difficulty I had was getting the battery out, which required me to use an iOpener heat pack and a blue "guitar" pick (both were part of my iFixit tool kit), and a credit card. Pried the battery up from the corner with the pick and then slid the credit card underneath to break all the glue.

@@TapticDigital EDIT: Ok so I ended up breaking my volume up connection point on my mainframe while I was prying apart the frame. I used the blue pick I had mentioned and was just too rough with it. My speaker is also rattling during use and the result is a pretty crappy audio playback. Any suggestions?

@@Croftkid24 the volume ribbon would need to be replaced, unless you mean the connector on the board at which point you'd have to do some soldering. As for the speaker you can use a little double sided tape around where it fits in to keep it from shaking around
