My thoughts on the Galaxy A54 5G vs. the Google Pixel 6a. Samsung did quite the job of making things closer this year between these two devices. I'm really looking forward to the comparison to the 7a as well, but the 6a is a pretty good one. Personally, I'm still going Pixel, but I can see a LOT of reasons this year why you'd go with the Galaxy.

I have 2 Pixel 6a devices. 1 work and 1 personal. Phenomenal device for now 299 on Google. I traded in my A71 5G for my personal as I liked my new work phone so much. It cost me 49 dollars after trade in. Our son recently broke the lens on his A71 and Google gave me 193 on trade in for a Pixel 7 which is now on sale for 449. We are quickly transitioning from a Samsung to Pixel family. The cameras and performance are excellent. I like Samsung but now prefer the lighter, non redundant Pixel software. Just my .02

Google did something for the Pixel 6a that made it popular despite the superiority of others in most of the specifications. What I hope for the next 7a device is that it will be the same design as the 6a, with adjustments, only those who raise the quality of the front camera to 4k and increase the battery charging speed

How do you set up VM on the A 54? When I press number 1 on the keypad, which is supposed take you to set up VM, I get a voice that says, "The person you're trying to reach is unavailable - please try later."

I love the way Android 13 looks 😂. Especially with that gray color that, at least to me, harkens back to when I would play around with MS Paint as a kid on a gray brick back in the 90’s.

Coming from an s23 ultra, I just ordered a 6a because I absolutely hate the notifications on the lock screen on Samsung as well as the dual apps of Samsung and Google. So I would go with the 6a because I prefer the notifications on Pixel as well as the stock android experience. Then the performance matters to me and I’ve had bad experiences with Exynos processors. The Tensor chip isn’t perfect but it is pretty reliable overall. And I absolutely love the compact size and design on the 6a too. The a54 looks like a great budget device, but for the price I feel like the 6a is a more complete phone and experience.

Actually, *Pixel 6a and Galaxy A54 both have great displays* with equal peak and sustained brightness. Galaxy A54 has Samsung's typical more contrasty and punchy display whereas the Pixel 6a is much more colour accurate and neutral. *Galaxy A54 does have 120Hz over Pixel 6a's 60Hz.* *Pixel 6a has a substantial lead in cameras, performance and Haptics though.* Although Galaxy A54 has a glass back, the aluminium frame of the pixel 6a is much more important for phones durability. *Galaxy A54 does give you an extra year update with tons of One UI features* but Pixel 6a gets you faster updates without any bloatware. *I would suggest getting discounted S21Fe over Galaxy A54 anyday.* Cheers 🥂

If you're okay with 60hz, no wireless charging, and a plastic back honestly I think people should get the Pixel 6a over the Pixel 6.

Wireless charging is even slower than wire charging. It's capped it 7.5 watts so you're not really missing anything. Wireless charging is incredibly slow. Even the fastest wireless charging is only 15 watts and the thermal formed plastic back feels incredibly good in the hand and it's actually a bit more durable than glass

Though honestly right now, with the price they're selling the A54 for. You can purchase a device such as the OnePlus 10T for about fifty dollars more with a much faster processor and overall better quality device.

Yeah, the only problem is you can do that all day. Pixel 7, same thing. That's why I keep it to the two devices people might consider new in that price range. Used or sales, you can go down the line.

I'd take the Samsung yet I must admit I adore my Google 6 & 7pro but I'd have to have that display 100% also I don't play games so yeah I'm taking Samsung out of these 2 all day long. Yet I'd wait on the 7a if I could

The a few things I don't like about the 6A is that it has a slightly smaller battery and smaller screen, I really didn't want to go smaller from my current 6.4 inch screen. But I do like that it has way more 5G & 4G capabilities. I thought about getting Pixel 7 instead of 6A but it's $600 vs 6A being $450. This is why I've been eyeing the A54 at its current $375, I originally wanted the Oneplus 11 but I've heard about calling problems and WIFI issues. I wonder when 7A and 8 will be released.

The a53 came out the same year the 6A did. That would be a more fair comparison. Although the Google is still better than the a54 the software experience the cameras. The battery life is amazing. The UI is incredibly smooth after the beta 14 update

google pixel 6a really a good phone , even it is with the 60hz refresh rate , everything smooth and the phone really flying , it only has one problem , it alwauys getting warm , sometimes overheating which i dont recommend for gaming

Android 14 fixed the heat issues the new beta 5.1 update released yesterday has over 30 bug fixes ..U can opt into the beta and download it now and fix that issue now

120hz, 90hz. I was using honor 50 with 120hz display I got the 6a I hardly noticed the difference.

Gaming and video editing on the pixel will probably be better. I have the samsing a54 5g and I'm experiencing the lag so far when it shouldn't be there

My pixel 4a from 2020 received it's first update within one month after it's launch, so you technically have only two years of operating system updates. This year's strategy would be a welcome change..

Samsung displays are oversaturated the Google Pixel 6a is way more color accurate. The LG v60 has a better panel than both of them and it came out in 2020 and it's only 60 hertz but it blows these panels away

Display, speakers, battery life, oneui, microsd card slot, there is more. There are lots of reasons to get the 6a, but don't sell the A54 short. It has reasons as well.

If you want your Samsung to be faster, go to Settings > Developer options > Window & transition animation scale (switch off or switch to .5) > Animation duration scale (switch off or switch to .5) You're welcome.. 😉

SHUTTER LAG AGAIN!!! I would have been ok with the worse photo quality. I would have been ok with a "slower" processor. But what I CAN'T live with, is the fact the A54 is INCOMPATIBLE with the camera assist app from the galaxy store. Camera Assist app allows you to eliminate shutter lag at the slight cost of photo processing quality. But A54 isn't compatible with it, which means you have to suffer the insufferable SHUTTER LAG! You press a button, and the phone will take a picture a half a second later. This is ok if your subjects are still, but a TERRIBLE thing when you are taking pictures of people, especially kids.

It used to be even worse...it's better than it was with the A53 and S22 Ultra, which is weird, but it's just a Samsung thing. It stinks and they should change the way they do their processing for sure.

The tensor isn’t a cheap processor. It crushes the performance in actual usage of the Exynos in the A54. The A54 has other advantages but it’s a close matchup.

The last 128 I had was an s20 FE and when you start to get all of the storage almost filled up it does slow down

I'm still using my Galaxy S7 with 32 GB of storage, so that sounds like a whole lot of storage to me! I have a micro SD card though, but it's still a struggle with the app data on the internal storage.

The A50 series has gone downhill since the A52 in my personal option, I think it was TOO good and challenging the Galaxy S' bottom line. The A53 removed the headphone jack (and I believe SD card) and the A54 has been getting bad press when compared to the A53.

Idk about downhill, more than identity crisis. I went from an a52 5g to an a54 5g. I pre ordered and traded in the a52 and got the a54 with the galaxy bud live for about $300 total. But I have been watching alot of videos about my a54 and comparison videos specifically. It seems like a54 5g is more of a s23 lite than an A series, and I think that's purposeful with the design language alone. We've just been handed a watered down s23 that's only missing wireless charging, the faster processor, a lesser camera, and a slightly cheaper body. This phone in my hands seems more like a middle finger to the iPhone se than a direct competitor to other phones in its price range. If Samsung keeps at it I expect within 2 years this phone will have more bells and whistles on par with its flagship while trying to keep it at half the cost.

The a54 5 g is a waste of money. You can get the pixel 6a and the A 53, both for the same amount as the a54. The pixel is a great phone. Buttery smooth and great cameras. But really all three of these phones are so similar you won't notice much difference.

First off, what do you think the Tensor is based on? Second, I KILLED the A53 last year. Have you used the A54? It's much better. It's not amazing, and the 6a still beats it on performance, but that's not the only part of the phone.

Softwear Samsung beats Google like you said. Other than screen calling and translation is better on pixel and day but the ui on Samsung is better had pixel 6 7 and 6a I like a54 better maybe pixel is faster but a54 isn't slow for 450 still a good price out the gate.
