Main problem im having on my note 9 is that I'm not receiving text messages. I'll get them on my One Plus and not on my Note 9. Is anyone else having this issue? It's very annoying and prevents me from using the note.

Same problem for me, heating up and battery drain juste after updating to One UI 2.1 on Galaxy Note9. Two updates later nothing changed, I am asking myself if it is sabotage, lets see if more updates will resolve it.

the battery drain is caused by the software itself, so there is no need for u to replace ur battery

UI 2.5 overheating still exist, android 10. WiFi connection battery is good and no overheating problem but in mobile data overheating is a problem and the battery drains fast

Sometimes updates do more harm than good. That's why I never worry about having the latest version of android. All versions since 7.0 are still perfectly usable today. I even have an old LG tablet on android 5 and that one still works fine.

Looks like planned obsolescence in software form, the heat in the cpu would be the reason for the battery drain.

I have no heat or battery problems, but I have disabled all AR related apps and all other apps I don't use. Geekbench single core 676 and multi 2070. Tech manufucturers are always adding new features which most people don't even need, because they need to sell new stuff to get high profit for investors.

Software sabotage is real... Apple got busted for slowing down CPU's, Android developers probably avoid that and overclock the CPU and GPU to burn out the battery.

The CPU frequency fluctuates a lot in the left Note 9 (One UI2.1) and with high frequencies 2.2 ghz., also the ram is being used too much for no apolications in the background. That is so weird and the reason of the high temperature and the battery consumption. I follow a youtuber who so far has not reported any problems in his Note 9 exynos. It may only be a snapdragon problem for now. Holy Crist the drop in performance it present in the multicore 1622/2176😲.

Looks as though there is some processing going on in the back ground,2.1 did add alot of features,using developer options may be causing some issues,turning this off for a while over night...soft reset,check oneui home at galaxy store for update,,find oneui home in apps clear cache,data,force stop.will reset home.galaxy labs at galaxy store cool tool..clear cache partition may improve too...

I have 20+ smartphones going back ten years. Some I intentionally don't update. My general observations are that other than dark mode, and SOME camera software, updates add more risk than benefits. Almost all new application versions are bloated compared to original, and many take away features, fonts, etc in an attempt to get you to pay for a better version. Hope Samsung hasn't done what Apple got convicted for, reducing battery life for existing customers to sell new phones. Peace

Waw.. so is that means better to stay our Note 9 on android 8.1 than updating them? Many people just bought G Note 9 recently bcoz of its Big Sale Price. Make it more affordable for us.. almost 50% discount than first time its released price. The latest version of 8.1 was december 2018 updates.

unfortunately note 9 isn't going to get major software updates any more. just security updates for two more years. problem with Samsung is it;s launcher is getting bloated after each update with many apps running at the background so the phone runs slower and heating up. also you can't downgrade even by rooting your device .you are going to have problems with KNOX :-( buying another phone from that brand is hard to justify with all that issues

@@TheTechPreacher Had Samsung tech look at it and they said it could be repaired but it would cost about £90 but since taking to Samsung its been stuck in safe mode. so ive ended up having to buy a new phone, got a Note10+. See how we get on with that but im not done with the Note 9. Samsung will get the bill for.

If you have these problems use a mini desk fan near your phone to always keep it cool, I know Samsung is Pissing me off lately, especially with the exynos 990 chip on the note 20 series, why can't there be both option

Is it the Exynos or Snapdragon variant? Mine is the Exynos variant, and it drains battery real fast, barely suparssing 9 hours if I don't turn on some battery power saving mode. And I'm not even e heavy user. I doubt #Samsung will ever listen to any Note 9 users' complaints anyway since it's been more than 2 years after the release. They just don't give a shit
