If price is such a concern then you wouldn't be looking at premium products in the first place. The Note 8 was basically the same price as this. There are plenty of cheap and 2nd hand phones that satisfy the budget conscious. Like if you’re buying a cheap Honda, you’re not going to be comparing it to the top of the line luxury car brand. For business expenses this price peanuts and there are also plenty of deals to essentially get it for half price. I spend more yearly on my cell phone plans than this phone.

Tobe honest, I only use the S-Pen for games hehe. And I'm a business person. Int he Apple ecosystem you can save your sig once and never have to sign again you just place it in the document that's it. I switched to note 9 from the iPhone 6S Plus. Apple lost me when they took away the headphone jack, slowed down the function of my phone without asking me and then wanted me to buy a new battery (or even better a new phone). Rumors are that Samsung will do the exact same thing with the headphone jack, on the next model. I sincerely hope not! None the less after a lifetime of being an apple fan girl, I am finding Android to be vastly superior. More options, more customization, a more fun experience. An note9 is just awesome. When I'm bored, or needing to relax, I color in like a kid using the s-pen and one of the many free apps. I actually use the s-pen to handwrite sticky notes for my daily work (and then just erase the notes at the end of the day). I've used DEX as a desktop on a monitor once or twice when I've needed to. It all works smoothly. I just like it and its soo much more versatile than iPhone. Maybe its cause its a newer platform and phone for me but I'm in love with what this phone can do for me.

When I took it in the river (my fault) the sim tray seal failed and fried my sim card, but all I had to do was get a new one and dry the phone out! Then at the 2 year mark my battery blew up, had to get it replaced at batteries plus and the guy broke my wireless charging when he did it. What finally pushed me to upgrade was about 2 weeks ago, because the guy had damaged the phone when he replaced the battery the seals were broken and I dropped it in a sink by accident, which it took like a champ, but the volume down key fried and stuck it in safe mode, so now I'm here on my note 9

I agree with you. Note 4 is the best phone of that time. However I think Note 9 is the best phone of this time. The only single thing I don't like are rounded screen edges. They look cool but lower productivity. Note 10 is a new generation that I don't like - no VR, no headphone jack, no heart-rate sensor and a camera hole in screen are a no-no for me. I mean no headphone jack would be ok but the other stuff? Absolutely no!
@Spearra4 жыл бұрын
@@potatochalbro Honestly I game a lot, so even just the removal of the headphone jack is a no no for me. I was looking into foldables and the Note 10+, but I really thought about it and came to the conclusion that I cannot break ties with the headphone jack. Lucky for me, since the Note 9 is now a "old phone", getting one should be rather cheap. But in all seriousness, these big tech companies need to stop with the "less is more" fallacy.

Siri is not that bad if you use actual productivity stuff. (Texting, appointments, reminders, timers, alarms, etc instead of asking pointless shit). I find that most things that "fail" in Siri vs Google Assistant videos are the pointless shit and also the fact. Like "Who was the 44th president". Then asking "How old is he", then Siri not reminding the previous question and it loses a point in the comparison test.. Seriously who does that. I use Siri all the time, and while not perfect it's certainly much better than people make it out to be for click baiting videos on KZbin. I also use Google Assistant all the time on my S9+, and installed an app to make the bixby button use the Google Assistant. zThat's how much I hate it.

Still missing the IR blaster, one of my most used features on my phone. I use a V20 with a 10,000mah replacement battery. I leave all features on and brightness at max when using my phone, and i use it a lot. For facebook page managing, gaming, photo taking, all day, every day. I can easily drain a battery like what is in the note 9 by lunch time. All day battery life should mean i can wake up, go hard, and not have to worry about plugging in until i go to bed. Right now the V20 is the last phone released in my opinion that truly ticks all the power user boxes. it's rugged, doesn't give a shit about its looks, has a replaceable battery, IR blaster, expandable storage, headphone jack (with a beastly DAC/amp to boot), uses a traditional 16x9 screen res that isn't a mass of wasted screen real estate in 90% of games and 99% of videos, has a wide angle lens (much more useful than telephoto, but thats just my opinion). It's kind of sad that it's been almost 2 years since the last feature complete phone was released to the market. I don't want curved, sexy, sleek, glass, notched, stretched, 87 camera'd phones. I want a device that does the shit i want it to. And for now, my next phone when this one dies, is going to be another V20. And it's going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than 1000 dollars.

APurpleSpy You're an idiot.
@newwavetheo6 жыл бұрын
As a V20 owner, I fully agree to all of this. The IR blaster unfortunately is going away. It used to be a heavily touted feature in older Samsung Galaxy S4/S5 & Notes 3 and 4 in TV advertising. Now all phones are going for form over function (asthetics over utility) and it makes no sense because protective cases will be put on and will alter the look considerably, if one cares about it. The V20 has everything that my old Note 3 did when it died plus some. NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR blaster, Dual SIM (My H990DS unlocked model), microSD card storage with the ability to have 2 SIMs and an microSD inserted all at once and used at the same time. FM Radio for emergencies, Camera that can shoot RAW, Removable Battery, Quad-DAC 3.5 mm Audio Jack, High impedance mode, man you name it! About the only downer is the screen is less rich in color and brightness compared to the much older Note 3 I had. IPS (V20) vs OLED (Note 3). The V30 and newer V series phones all now have the same limitations as the Samsung Notes. I will keep my V20 for as long as I can.

Theo T. Every tv has wifi, you don't need an IR Blaster when you can control your TV through wifi. Even my cheap ass 400€ LG TV has a dedicated app which allows me to control my TV however I want.
@newwavetheo6 жыл бұрын
@@shooterrick1 Not all TVs have Wi-Fi, including my own and a good chunk of cheaper TVs (under $250 Dollars) don't have Wi-Fi of Smart TV support of any kind. The IR blaster can be used in lieu of that. In addition, the IR blaster ISN'T JUST FOR TV's. I've used it on college projectors, desktop monitors, Air conditioners, Heaters, Aftermarket Car Stereos, etc. Most projectors at my college are old with no Wi-Fi (bulbs get replaced as they age). The new ones do support Wi-Fi, but they are usually disabled or not setup for controlling via Wi-Fi making that approach useless. And when the internet goes out, it becomes useless also. IR is tried and true for many decades.

So when i go to my parents who have a wall mounted 65" samsung flatscreen from about 5 years ago, what should i do? Tell them it has an app even though it doesn't? Use mind powers? Or tell them that they obviously need to upgrade because it doesn't have app control and their perfectly good TV is completely pointless to own now as all TVs have dedicated apps. How about my own house? I have a samsung in the kitchen, a vizo in the living room, and an LG in my room. Instead of using a single app, i should jump between 3 different apps depending on what room I'm in? What should I have done when I went to a friends place to watch the evo finals, and we couldn't hear the new tekken announcements, but he couldn't find the remote. Should I have sat there and scoffed at him for having a 10+ year old TV? Should i have told him obviously it has an app because all TVs have apps. What about when I have access to the back area of a bar for a party that has a massive new flatscreen hanging on the wall? It has an app, but it hasn't been set up and I can't control it. I would need a remote to go through initial setup. If only i had brought my home remote in my pocket... or... you know... maybe an IR blaster on my phone. What about controlling the volume on the TVs at my local LAN center. Even if they do have apps, their machines are on a protected wifi with 2 step authentication, that often causes trouble with simple devices (Impossible to set up chromecasts for example) should i tell them to set a remote at every TV in the facility, bother the employees for the remote to adjust the volume, reach up to the TV to manually adjust the volume, or just use my phone? How should i control my old window AC unit? It has a remote which I lost a long time ago, and is most certainly NOT wifi capable. Am I just a baby for not wanting to get up and adjust it manually? Should i throw away a perfectly working unit in favor of one that can connect to wifi? This is all without talking about the apps themselves. Most of them are absolute garbage (I hope i NEVER have to open my vizio app again). These are situations I regularly find myself in. My point being that just because something does not apply to your daily life does not mean it is pointless. The way i go about my days and live my life, having an IR blaster helps me immensely, enough so to the point that the idea of switching to a phone without one seems downright ridiculous. If i stayed in my house, used 1 device, never went to peoples houses, and threw out everything i own that wasn't wifi connected, then maybe I would feel less bad about it. But I'm not planning on doing that any time soon.

I will start by saying that I have a note 8 and have been blessed to always afford one in the past. It seems as we are never satisfied with anything. That is a different conversation.. However, no other phone in the market has all around the best combination of features (compromise) and backed by a solid company with customer support and assistance like Samsung. Lastly, if $1k is too much, don't forget now days if you are patient, there are plenty of promotions which will end up giving you a phone for half the price...and at that, comparing features with the iPhone or any other phone.. It does not even come close...way too many more check boxes over the notch competitor or any other phone..

That’s your personal opinion “worth buying”, every “self-proclaimed tech reviewer” on youtube will say “worth buying” and “close to perfection” but the reality is a “dumb phone” for just texting and calls for $0 on a contract or $30 pay as you go is “worth buying”. You can then go and by a tablet and laptop for well under $1000 today and that’s worth making the choice. Considering there are way too many choices in phones today. Samsung could have implemented all of these things in their Note 8 but chose to make “incremental” updates and “innovation” making you think “oh, it’s worth buying now”. That’s the truth people :D I LOVE you all. - Vi An MUSIC.

My only gripe with my S9+ & Note 8 is the headphone jack wired audio. It’s low & weak. My iPhone X is loud & full sounding. Did Samsung finally get a great dac? I love music. I need great wired audio from a phone. Please respond. Thanks.
@GabrielIgnacio6 жыл бұрын
Frankamentise Depends on the hardware you're using. My S9 sounds just fine, with or without the Dolby Atmos processing, which tends to color the music a bit too much. That being said, it isn't too powerful. If you want something with a bit more oomph, you're either better off going the dongle route and getting a USB-C dongle with a dedicated DAC. Razer's dongle for their phone works on the S9 and gives a better neutral sound over the S9 as well as having more power through it, though it's gonna be $20

*PLEASE READ THIS, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY THE NOTE 9 IS THE BEST SMARTPHONE OF THE DECADE!* Got to spend some money??? Forget Apple with their false advertising, Forget Xiaomi, Forget the Fragile Oppo Phones and those "Full Screen to body Ratio" Vivo Phones. Forget Huawei with Saying that they have the best camera while their device can not perform better than Note 9 in low - light conditions. Forget Sony claiming they have the most megapixels in a single camera. Forget Google claiming to be the best smartphone with the smoothest experience and best single camera ever. This ladies and gentlemen is the best smartphone so far of the era. Not because it's good at a thing only, but because it's good in many things. There are OEMS like Apple that are good in one thing, and that is their CPU power. This device may not be that, but at least it packs many good and useful things into a single 6.4" device. Okay tell me, where in the world is there a device that has: -Micro SD Slot up to 512GB Memory. -Headphone Jack. -4k mAh battery. -Stereo AKG 3D Tuned Speakers. -6.4" 2K Super AMOLED Display, being one of the best displays ever made on a phone. -No notch, and still more screen to body ratio than iPhone X. -Best low light camera out there, having dual aperture. -NFC. -4G speeds up to a GIGABIT per second!. -Most durable water and dust resistant smartphone ever, IP - 68 Rated. -Hybrid Slot. -Type - C port having a pretty fast and decent charging time thanks to the Fast Charging technology Samsung has. -Fairly protected battery that does not explode. -Great liquid cooling out there with a gigantic heat pipe to keep the heat away. -Decent customisation on Samsung's Android with Samsung Experience 9.5 that has many features ahead of every Android version out there. -Android 8.1 with top protection, thanks to the active knox deployment system. - 8GB/6GB of RAM Memory and 128/512GB of Internal Memory. -Fastest and best Wireless Charging out there. -Durable front and back glass. -Iris Scanner. -Great front facing 8MP camera. -Noise Cancellation Mic -Samsung Dex (PC Like workstation mode) that can now be used with a single Type - C to HDMI Dongle. -Best S-Pen out there with Bluetooth capabilities for taking photos, unlocking your smartphone, playing/pausing music, and more stuff around that. -Bixby 2.0 which is far better, smarter and more optimised. And last, but not least price below 1,200$. What else could you want people? Go on, I'm open for Discussion!
