My dad grew up in the 70s and has always lived star wars. In my house growing up, we had a Christmas tradition that when we put up the Christmas tree we would always watch the original trilogy. We have all grown up now but we all (all 5 kids) keep the tradition going with our own families😊

Well my gateway was to seeing bits and pieces of ROTJ that my brother had on in his room back in the 90's on VHS, what really got me full swing was a friend of my parents who happened to have a ton and I mean a ton of Star Wars merch from back in the 90's (I was in grade school obviously) and I got to play some of his games and toys I even have one of his Tusken Raiders on a Bantha which has that "real" fur feel, anyways yeah after awhile I collected my own stuff or what I could little by little and then I went to go see The Phantom Menace on opening night and that sealed the deal for me.

I always love answering this question! As a kid I wasn't necessarily "into" Star Wars but it was "just another" movie to watch. When Star Wars Celebration came to Los Angeles in 2007, I was about 13 years old. I was reading through a magazine and saw an advertisement for it. I don't know why or how or what made me, but I decided to go! My dad took me down on Saturday and I absolutely fell in love with everything and anything Star Wars. The rest is history!

Just like Ash, my gateway to Star Wars was SpaceBalls. I remember watching it on TV as a kid and Loving it so much. And my brother (Who is 15 years older than me) asked me "You know that's a rip-off of Star Wars right?" and I said "What's Star Wars?" then we watched all 3 Star Wars movies that week including the Holiday special. When the Prequals came out my brother took me to go watch them in the theater. When Episode 1 came out he actually took me out of school early (I was in 7th grade) to go watch it on opening day...without my parents knowing.

To make a long story short: I had never seen Star Wars until my sophomore year of high school. A senior in my drama class told me it was truly a masterpiece and lent me ‘A New Hope’. After I watched it I fell in love and just 6 months later I had planned, attended, and enjoyed my first ever convention Star Wars Celebration 2015 in Anaheim CA with 2 friends. From there I’ve always had a love for the Star Wars community

I grew up just 5 miles away from Skywalker ranch on Lucas Valley road. We went to a small school K-8 30 kids in the whole school only 2 kids in my class. We would often get merchandise from Star Wars donated to the school for fundraising from Lucas’s ranch. We would get like Chewbacca cookie jars, posters, Darth Vader coffee mugs, Jabba the Hut play sets, coloring books, figures etc. this was in the 80’s when Return of the Jedi came out. We were too poor to have watched iv and v when they came out. I knew they existed I also didn’t know English well enough to understand when New Hope came out in 77-78. Also VCR’s were exorbitantly expensive but some how a neighbor took pity on us and let us watch both New Hope and Empire. They were life changing. Later when Return came out our Teacher rewarded us by taking us to the Theater for helping her clean her class room for the summer break. I will always remember being fortunate enough to be taken to see that glorious movie. I love your vibe I hope to make it to a life day. Believe that.

I was given a Chewie figure by Kenner by my dad who worked a lot when i was a kid and I treasured it like it was my own child. He realized that I loved it and introduced me to Episode IV and the rest is history. My parents joke that they saved hundreds of dollars on babysitters by teaching me how to use the VCR and insert Star Wars tapes. I was entranced the entire time it was on. Today I'm 37 and building a movie set quality spaceship in an old travel camper on their property: they understand.

My gateway into Star Wars was going to the cinema with my parents and seeing the poster for Attack of the Clones and wanting to see that movie sooooo badly. My parents however told me that those movies were for boys only so I couldn't see it but little did they know that in saying that, they ignited the spark within me as a Star Wars fan.

I got into Star Wars, because Daisy Ridley was playing in the movie Chaos Walking and I was curious what her acting skills were like. So I watched the Sequels and instantly LOVED IT! After that I decided to watch the movies in chronologically order, because I already knew the 'big Vader plot twist'. And that's how my love for Anakin and Vader was born! If I had to recommend someone to start watching Star Wars I would say start with either The Mandalorian or with Roque One or maybe even start with The Clone Wars animated series.

BTW, I first experience with SW was seeing the first one during the re-release in 1981. My soon to be brother in law asked me if I ever saw it and when he found out I did not, he dragged me to the theater and I was hooked ever since.
