The main and secondary camera on s10+ is the same as s9+ they just added a third camera for the ultra-wide and probably tweaked the software a bit, but s9+ could get the same tweaks for those two cameras since the performance doesn't really differ that much neither except in maybe ram, but that's mostly useful in multitasking than anything.

While I love having the option for the wide angle, I prefer the colouring on the s9+ I've tried this with a few various shots, main night time, but I prefer the tones and colours on my s9+ compared the s10+ which I'm abit disappointed about

The only thing missing is a low light video comparison. Since I used my phone for making my youtube videos I like to see all the video stuff. Other then that great video! it is the best one I have come a crossed so far!

I know it´s been said before, but now I think smartphone cameras, in their current form (tiny sensors), have finally reached their max potential, without diminishing returns compared to r&d put into it. I´m finally, after 7 years of buying the latest and greatest flagship every year, almost just for the camera, over it. I´m getting into full-frame Sony and keeping my s9+ for another year. S 10 is crazy though, the wrong year to be over smartphones :D

Really solid review on the 2 phones in respect to their cameras. For me, I would not upgrade due to the camera, it's not enough for the wide angle lens. Other than the additional lenses, the picture are much too similar. I'd be more interested in battery life, and CPU/GPU differences in real world testing. I'm still on the fence to upgrade (Note 9).

Great video I preordered my S10 plus first day. For the HDR 10+ Video recording does that record in all resolutions or does it get scaled down when enabled. Also how much of a difference does it have turned off compared to turned on.

At first I was going to buy the S9+, but Wide Angle Lens, HDR video Recording and better IQ (in my opinion) is pushing me to the S10. Another point: Triple cam allready in the S10 (and not only in the + version). I can get a smaller phone (important for me) with more camera possibilities.

Do you have an abum you've posted these to, so we can see them up close? I'd like to know if the 10 has less artificial sharpening (aka edge enhancement) built in than the 9. The 10 appears to have better dynamic range but sometimes this flattens the image and makes it so there arent good bright or dark areas.

Hey dude, just thought I'd mention that the S9 (and S8 I think) were updated to allow for longer super slow motion bits. The only problem is that it's not _really_ recording 960 FPS though, it's doing 480 and then using software magic to make it seem like it's 960; the waterfall clip was actually pretty bad on the S10, you could see loads of stuttering and smearing in the water. Honestly I really want an S10 (not plus) just for the super-wide angle camera and the fact that it's got a battery nearly as large as the S9+ but is more power efficient with a less unwieldy body. Can't really justify upgrading so quickly though, so maybe I'll see what the S12 has in store, haha. Thanks for the vid! Kinda agree the S10 doesn't handle HDR very well, but that's fixable.

The S9, Note 9, and S10 all do true 950fps however it’s 480p upscaled to 720p similar to what the RX100 can do. Also, the S9 received a software update which bumped the slow motion up from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. The S10 is the only one that can do 8 seconds. Thanks for watching my man! Sorry, think I might've been unclear. Yup, they all do native 960FPS (1/32 real time speed) for 0.2 seconds, but at least in the case of the S9 and from the looks of it the S10 as well, the 0.4 seconds 960FPS is actually half that, or 480 frames per second (1/16 real time) interpolated to make it *seem* like 960FPS. That's why the waterfall in the S10 footage looks less defined than on the S9 and why it has weird stutters. This is the same thing the Huawei P10 does, which is why the quality of their slow mo isn't as neat. The reason they have to do that is because the DRAM layer that the phones write to when capturing super slow motion footage has limited capacity; longer stints of true 960FPS can't just be programmed in unless they somehow manage to compress the video by a lot more. I agree that they all look like SD quality, haha.

Excellent review. I have a Note 9, and wouldn't consider an upgrade based solely on camera performance. Also wouldn't consider an upgrade unless Note 10 was available with a stylus pen. For me, a stylus is a must-have.

Can you use the ultra wide angle lens in video and if so, does the quality look great while filming? I've seen some videos where things look like the image is ghosting as I put it. I'm assuming a stabilization feature is on while that is happening

Yep you can. I showed it in the video towards the end. You really need to enable the wide angle distortion correction setting which the other may not of turned on.

I feel like S10 is often working way too hard to bring down the highlights, which is leading to downright unnatural looking photo at times. It's becoming obvious at 1:09, 1:30 and 1:55, as you can see there's a lot of HDR halo around edges while sky is rendered very flat and giving out "poorly edited in photoshop" look. S9 blows out some of the highlights in some cases but at least it keeps the image more natural than S10. Video quality wise it's largely unchanged and it seems that HDR10+ video recording capability is nothing more than a gimmick since most smartphone/PC panels don't support video playback in this particular format. So it's only useful when you have an editing program on your PC to properly grade the video and an expensive monitor which has HDR10+ compliance to view it with. With S10 series Samsung perfected so many things and I truly admire them for that, but IMHO the camera is one area, or possibly the only area where Samsung is falling behind many others. Instead of improving the actual image quality, they are stuffing features that not many people use or even care. Like, I don't give a damn about your Animoji ripoff or HDR video, just give me a natural looking photos! I wish they will put effort on more useful things on Galaxy Note 10.

Reproducing Natural looking photo's is like reproducing simple symphonic music...once you can, it is wonderful and the ultimate sound test, however most like different genres offering pizazz and wow factor... I agree with you 110%. Natural looking photo's is my ultimate goal... I wish mainstream cell phone cameras shared the same vision of simplicity... and simplicity is often difficult to acheive.

I have a S9+ upgraded from a S7 after it fell into the ground from my motorcycle... If you compare the specs S10+ is basically the same as S9+, not worth an upgrade. The cameras are the same except that you have a third ultra-wide one. The processor is pretty much the same 2800 MHz to 2840 MHz, RAM is a rise tho, from 6 to 8GB. S10+ is lighter tho which is a little bit surprising. I'll jump over this generation.

I'm trading my s9 plus for the s10......better audio, faster phone, better screen, better battery life, faster internet, reverse charger, ultrasonic fingerprint.....I'm excited, I barely take pictures so I dont really care about the cameras

That's because, S10+ has no OIS on its wide angle lens where S9+ has OIS. So it's basically OIS vs Non-OIS if Steady Mode is off.

The S9+ does not have an ultra wide angle camera. The S10+ has OIS in its standard wide angle and telephoto cameras just not the ultra wide angle.

Love your content bro. Beautiful wife... she have a friendly face. In regards to the camera, the S10 is amazing. The S9 is great as well but you can tell Samsung put a lot of work in this camera. Cant wait to see what they do with the Note 10

Overall S10 camera is better because they have integrated NPU in their phone which is similar to pixel's VisualCore. Obviously software updates will make camera more and more better
