The s10/s10 plus are not for those who have the s9/s9 plus to updrage to. The CPU is only 15% faster and GPU around 30% faster. The s10 series have UFS 3.0 which is faster than the UFS 2.1 found on the s9 series so for the long run apps will launch faster in the s10 series. The snapdragon 845 is still more than capable for another 2 years. It's only an upgrade if you have to have a flagship every year so your opinion is still bias.

The S9 is an underappreciated phone. A lot of S8 users didn't see it as enough of an upgrade and waited for the S10. Some even passed over that and are now only upgrading now that the S20 is becoming available. If you're upgrading from a lower line of Samsung phones, like the A or J series, the S9 is a great upgrade at pre-owned prices.

Finally! Was waiting for this. I picked up my S9+ just around 3 weeks ago for around 450 usd. I don’t see the point in spending more than double that on a newer phone which won’t even be that much better. Also please, the S9+ did win in a bunch of apps, mainly the social media apps. And had better RAM management here, despite having less RAM. Please call it as it is. Still, great video.

The upgrade from an S9+ is definitely not worth it. The design though is massively improved, it's the most beautiful peace of tech on the market. Another fact of Samsung phones is the price drop during its cycle. Whether you must or maybe upgrade, waiting would be wise.

The fingerprint scanner is shotty hit or miss, the hole dot or pill shape cutouts aren't easy to get used to since they shouldn't be there in the first place. Would you watch your TV with a solid black pill shaped cutout? No. . No iris scanning so no SECURE unlocking. Facial and iris scanning combine for intelligent scan is a HUGE PLUS! especially with the new "lift to wake" feature of PIE ONE UI. people are even complaining about the weight of the phone not feeling premium weighted like the 8 and 9 series phones.

Facts. I have an S9 and a friend of mine has an S8. After Pie update, both phones are basically the same in speed and we even put the S9 and the S8 against the S10 and there was barely any difference, certainly not worth upgrading, which is really nice. I mean it's good that Samsung doesn't force users to upgrade to a new phone, but makes the older models faster with software updates.

I seriously doubt many will bother exept for a few AA developers and only the most current flagship devices. @@NicB-Creations it's not a fad. It's the gradual evolution of the technology. Dead apps won't be optimized true. Don't use full screen mode. Big deal. With the rest, whether through direct payments or ads, developers want to make that money so they know dam well they need to optimize their apps so people will use them to maximize profit potential. As for the bezels, they can always be made thinner, eventually. Phone design will always be limited to the current engineering capability and related costs. We got notches to minimize bezels, but camera and sensors still need a spot so now we have the notch. This drove innovation by some to find ways to avoid the notch. Camera pop out. Slider mechanisms. Samsung among others engineered the hole punch. Whether due to engineering restrictions or costs, it wasn't possible to do a hole punch until now. It also wasn't possible until now to hide sensors in the display among the pixels. In display fingerprint sensors became possible in recent years. Only now is it possible to make an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner work in the display. Gradual steps. Engineering improves. Better methods found to lower costs of such engineering techniques. Could they make the bezels smaller? Perhaps. Can it be done without increasing the cost of the phone? Unlikely. But engineering methods will improve over the year allowing for small improvements. It's not yet practical to put a camera under the display, but eventually it will be. Notches and holes are definitly no fad. Just incremental steps towards a better eventual design.

In real world you notice just a little difference. It's snappier when switching apps. S9 has a little bit of lag. Also battery is increased. Screens size is increased. Extra wideangle camera. Camera is more tweaked so photos and videos look better for the purists. I still have both S9+ and S10 and I know it's minor upgrade but I bought the S10 with 200,- discount and free earbuds (100,-) so practically it cost me 200,- when I sell my S9+.

I think a huge factor for the s9+ winnings are based on app optimization. With most non-Samsung apps, such as games they are not fully optimized for the s10+ yet, you might want to consider doing another video in a few months to see the difference.

Opening apps won’t show the difference between the two, the only way to notice it is when you are using more then one app at a time, or if you are gaming on it or using cpu heavy apps. Example: PUBG, fortnite, surfing while Netflix stuff like that. Especially now that the trend is to play games on your phone it seems, more people use the excuse of it being more gaming capable as a better phone.
