"Everything's looking good on this device, aside of my face" that was painful to watch 😂😂

Thank you so much for this video. I had swapped display/midframe on one of these phones, and the other DIY guide I followed didn't talk about swapping the antenna on the top-right. The new display included that antenna... But of course it was the wrong one and so data + SMS + call weren't working. After coming across your video including swapping that antenna, I bought the tool set you linked and was able to swap the antenna! Phone now works 100% !

Very cool video. My wife's display simply stopped working. Wondering if display cable came loose under speaker. How do you remove case without damaging it?
@TapticDigital2 жыл бұрын
Everything is screwed down so unfortunately it's unlikely that it's just loose. The OLED may have taken a hit and cracked without the glass breaking. Removing the back takes a good bit of heat and a razor blade or pry tool to separate the adhesive, isopropyl alcohol can help soften it too!
@whyohmean2 жыл бұрын
@@TapticDigital thanks for the reply! I saw all the screws in that lower speaker section but, wasn't sure if there was any room for the connector to pop off. May have to pull it apart just to see myself. Can't do much more damage.

Hi, there! I just recently broke my phone :( does the kit come with adhesive or do you get that yourself? I heard you say apply adhesive but I didn't see a link for it😅
@TapticDigital Жыл бұрын
It's mostly just the adhesive on the back glass, if it comes up clean it can sometimes be reused, otherwise you'll need some very thin double-sided tape. I recommend tesa tape, but others will work fine

How long should I expect a replaced screen to last? Have other customers reported issues with their replaced screens after several months, such as display problems or malfunctions?
@TapticDigital4 ай бұрын
@@Taken991 it should last just as long as a factory screen, or until it’s dropped and damaged again. I rarely see issues out of replacement Samsung parts, especially if the shop uses Service Park parts which are Samsung branded.

Hey Man! I did this last night. It went well. I checked all functions and everything worked (It's an S21+) I left my house this morning and discovered that mobile data doesn't work. I've tried removing and reinserting sim, turning on/off mobile data and rebooting. I just have an empty "wireless" icon with the small x. I am certain I reconnected all the cables. Any thoughts, or ways I can troubleshoot this thing?
@TapticDigital2 жыл бұрын
The usual culprit for network issues on this one is the antenna at the top by the vibrate motor, I didn't do a great job of showing it but it shows up at 2:54. Almost all replacement parts seem to include an EU antenna so the original US (if that's your service country) needs to be swapped over. Assuming you did this already and it isn't the problem, the next thing I'd check is the SIM itself, possibly went bad and your provider can replace it. I've been seeing more network issues from Samsung in general lately, I actually have a S20 on my desk that had charging port issues (antennas are on the port for this one) and it absolutely refuses to connect to any carrier no matter how many daughter boards I try. The original board gets service fine, but won't charge. The replacements charge, but no service. Maddening! If all else fails, try reassembling the device in the original broken frame and confirming whether the service is working with those, if it does that means there may be a defect in the replacement part. It's unlikely, but possible the antenna bands on the frame are shorting somewhere, kind of like the iPhone 4 fiasco many years ago where your hand would short the frame's antenna bands and cause service to drop. Give it a shot, if you're still stuck after this, I'll still be here and might have more ideas!
@aspirax2 жыл бұрын
@@TapticDigital Okay, I saw you did something on the upper right hand near the vibration motor (Mine says "M") but when I inspected the two frames I did not see any differences. So I didn't do anything. Maybe that is the issue. Thank you for your knowledge and experience. I will go back in tonight.
@TapticDigital2 жыл бұрын
@@aspirax I'm now 99% sure that's the issue! I even compared those antennas under a microscope and found no difference other than one saying NA and one EU, yet one worked and one didn't. Let me know if it works!

Hello, I'm using the S21 I bought in Korea, but the wide-angle camera seems to be broken, so the camera doesn't work at all. So I'm trying to buy one with the wide-angle camera and telephoto from Ali, but I'm using Exynos now, and the one with telephoto and wide-angle, does the camera work well even if I use Snapdragon? Snapdragon is much cheaper, so I'm going to buy it..
@TapticDigital8 ай бұрын
I’m fairly sure they are not compatible, I may be wrong but typically parts like the cameras or charging boards are specific to “US” or “International” and won’t work with each other.

Did it miss the SCREEN REPLACEMENT part of this?!
@TapticDigital3 жыл бұрын
I guess? New screen shows up at 2:38 and continues on. I think we might be getting parts mixed up. The replacement screen I use is built into a new frame, this is the most efficient way for cost, time, and avoid returns. Doing glass/display-only is possible but doesn't retain as much water resistance, and has a tendency to fall apart if the phone gets too warm. The teardown would be the same, the only difference would be ripping the display off and gluing the new one in (seriously satisfying peeling it off in one broken strip). If attempting glass only, I can only offer sympathy, only real wizards should try that.
