Here's how I see upgrading at the moment, S23 users don't upgrade waste of money, S22 series users don't upgrade it's not quite time yet, S21 series users only upgrade if you want to or your battery sucks, S20 or older upgrade

I was going to buy s23 Ultra last month because it is so similar and looks more premium with the curved screen. It is also better for gesture navigation. And 10x zoom. But I ended up buying S24 Ultra because I was getting a deal, where it would only be around $180 more expensive. But overall, I liked it. The 5x zoom is now my favourite for portraits. Also love the idea of 7 years updates. My last phone was Poco F1, and I used it for over 5 years and only reason I upgraded was because it fell in a waterfall, then repaired and then performance degraded in few months to the point was it was randomly turning off. And then I cracked the screen in a fall... Phones have hit its peak, so, I think it is good idea to buy the best available, as not much updates are expected in near future. Just look at how similar S21U to S24U was.

Awesome video here, and I always enjoy your content. As long as I've had the S23 Ultra, I didn't really feel compelled to jump to the S24 Ultra. That being how crazy Samsung can put out future variants almost overnight. I did find it hard to daily drive the S23U; but the more I studied many reviews on it, I'm glad it still keeps my attention as one of the best flagships out here a year later. I only have one question. If im only paying 100 bucks to replace a broken s23 U with a S24 U (titanium grey), is it worth it? Like its not worse than S23 is it? Its almost like a free upgrade (since I'd pay the same to replace it with s23U). I loved my S23ultra. However (and I still have no idea how), my screen and LCD got cracked straight in the fingerprint censor like a bullet hit it. I don't even know what happened, I just picked it and it was done. Only thing I can think of is some bizarre physics occurrence from my screen protector (glass) beginning to peel off and somehow that adhesive becoming uneven caused it to implode toward the center. IDK. Anyways Verizon replacing it with s24U for free (meaning upgrade is free not the deductible). It sort of sucks there weren't any real meaningful upgrades between the two. But if the S24U is at least marginally better, its probably worth the 7 years of upgrades right?

Curved display, that's why i order my S23 Ultra today.. i have been useing a curved display for 6 years, going back to a flat display feel like a downgrade especially if you watch a lot of content on YT from your phone. I never had a problem with the curved display, right now i use a note 20 ultra, i can't belive how thinn and modern it look with that curve.

I'm truly caught between the 2. Having coming off the s22 ultra which has been extremely great for me I terms of camera etc, as I take alot of photos of nature, mountains clouds sunrises etc, I don't know what to choose. I own the s24U. Yes, out of the box, the display colours were washed out. However, there's a vividness setting that increases vibrancy of colours. Even with vibrancy at max setting, the oled on my wife's oneplus Nord 3 is significantly more vibrant than the samsung s24 ultra! Another thing is the grainy display when there's a grey image (like reddits grey background in reddit mode) on the screen. If these can bother you don't get the s24U. My honest opinion is save your cash and wait a few months into the s25u. Cheers!

The irony for me is that the new screens anti reflective properties make it far worse that the one on the S23 Ultra, less contrast and terrible washed out colours. Unbelievable move from Samsung as my S95C and S23 Ultra both have sublime screens.

i want to wait for a few years to get the s24 ultra...yeah i know i could just get a gaming phone like the red magic 9 pro but the s24 ultra i just love the features and boxer screen. and it is much easier finding a renewed samsung phone and they drop price faster. i know this is kinda cringe to say. You should play genshin impact on phone to test if the both phones can handle it. most phones handles it 60fps for like 15 minutes then heats up
