Galaxy S6 / S7: How to Fix "Warning Camera Failed" - 5 Easy Possible Solutions!

This goes for all Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S7, & S7 Edge.
You are getting the error or warning message "Warning Camera Failed"
Here are 5 possible solutions you can do right now. Start with number one and work your way down. You will not lose any photos or videos doing any of these five methods. Please comment and indicate what number or method worked for you.
1- settings, app manager, swipe right, cam app force stop , clear data,
2- smart stay turn off and restart phone,
3- wipe cache partition
4-- press and tab near camera lens
5- safemode.. if camera works then it is a rogue app somewhere interfering with camera.

I just use my Samsung S7 for a card game. I switched over to Apple SE. But my camera and flashlight stopped working on my S7. I ended up getting it to work after solution #5. Put it in safe mode, and then I deleted some apps that I recently installed. Wa La! It works. Thank you for the video!👍🏼

Mine was doing this and here is something I observed and an interesting solution. Nothing I did following all the suggestions, hints, tips here on KZbin and across the Web would work. I even factory reset the phone and still it happened to the point where I was considering taking it to the shop for repair. It was at this point that I noticed while going through various menus / apps etc that in the swipe down notification tray that the "torch" icon was showing it was in the "on" position i.e the icon was highlighted in blue but no amount of pressing it would cancel it however the LED camera flash was not physically on that is to say there was no light shining. I have the "All In One" toolbox app installed whereupon it gives you the option to install a Torch plugin so I decided to give it a go and installed it. The torch plugin gives you two options to control the main front screen which it lights up as a bright plain white wallpaper and the other option to actually control the camera flash LED with an on / off toggle button. I turned on the LED and it lit up (as per a torch) and turned it off. I then checked the "torch" icon in the notification drop down menu and it had switched off and wasn't highlighted in blue. I then clicked the camera and it switched back on and returned to normal operation. So that was my discovery and it worked, so hope that helps anyone.

try pressing it realy intese 4:30 en tapping it a fewe times it realy worked for me pressing it i woulden beleve it was a lose conector cuz i didend droped my phone resently so i did everythig on the softwaire side (exept for deleting the apps) "nothing worked in my case, and my last option was to pres around the sides of thecamera end started it back on in normal mode and it GAD_DEAM_WORKED :D when i had/and now the isue i heard everytime when i lounched the camera app a wierd ckliking nois like a internal switch ??? someone had the same isue???

The second step did it for me (S7 Edge international version), smart stay was on, I turned it off and then restarted the device. I had run into similar instructions on another site but the neglected to mention that the device needed to be restarted or shut down and back on. Thank you!!!

Well bust my buttons!!! My poor old S7 camera came up with that darn error message. Yes, I did all the software steps short of resetting the phone to factory. I KNEW it was a hardware failure, but no instructions ANYWHERE identified it as hardware failure until your video. When I did the pressing/rubbing/tapping to my SURPRISE that brought back my camera. Granted, this may only be a temporary fix, but enough to buy me time while my next phone upgrade is on backorder. I can't say thank you enough.

Fixed after tip #3 for me...thank you! Funny though- my Smart Stay was already set to off, so I just toggled it on/off again and rebooted and the camera is back to running. Fingers crossed!

+EMPIRE TURFSON first thing I would do it out ur phone in safemode then check your camera both sides. If the issue is resolved then more then likely it's an app causing this and you have to uninstall that app. Possible u can reinstall if it was a bad install.

thank you so much for this video. i dropped my s6 edge in water months ago. the phone gradually dried out and recovered its soggy experience. all except the front facing camera. i have dealt with it for months ... it would work sometimes and not others and sometimes my camera would get locked into front mode and i could not switch it back to use the rear facing one. i tried step 1 .... it worked. i forwarded the video to my son because he has had a problem with his camera also. thank you, thank you, thank you. my granddaughter likes to play with my phone and one if her faves is selfies :)
