They need to make a 10/11 inch tablet with an oled screen. The motion blur is nauseating on the s7 and I dont want a massive screen like the s ultras/+'s. And idk why front facing speakers arent more common

Honestly there is little difference between the S7 and S8 line. You do get a small bump in CPU performance and a negligible bump in GPU performance. You also get more ram. But honestly hardware wise the two tablets are going to become obsolete around the same time because they are SO close in specs. Where they will differ is the OS. The S7 line I believe has one upgrade left, while the S8 still has the full 4. So if you have a S7 now there really is no reason to upgrade UNLESS you move to the S8 ultra. If upgrading from a much older tablet then either one will do and if you can get it cheaper go with the S7. You'll still have 2 years of running a current OS. Even if it's one behind that's likely not a problem. So you could easily get 3-4 years out of it. If the price is nearly the same, or you really need that extra ram, go with the S8.

I think I will wait a couple of years, to trade in my tab s7. For now the tablet is still highly capable. Thanks to this review, you can tell that the difference between tab s7 and s8 aren't significant enough, to part with the extra cash. I know I can go for the s8+ or Ultra, but they're much more expensive and don't have the compact form factor that makes the tab s7 so easy to carry around. So for now, I'm good. Exactly bro , i paid $465 for my s7+ and I'm pretty sure Samsung will offer me a similar if not better trade in price for it when the s9 or s10 comes out , the s8 is cool and all but the snapdragon 8 gen 1 is fucking garbage.

I reciently bought a used S7 with 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of ram. It came with two S Pens, a third party stylus, the keyboard cover and the cover without the keyboard. I considered trading the S7 in on a new S8 but I just don't think there is a reason to do this. I would have liked the added support but none of the other upgrades were important enough to me.

I still feel the way S pen was mounted on S6 Lite was the best, I switched from S6 Lite to S6 and the magnets for pen dont feel so good and the pen gets in my way more often, hoping to see next galaxy tabs adopt the S6 Lite/ iPads way to store S Pen on the tablet on side

The main difference is longevity.. The S8 will get security updates all the way up to 2028.. The S7 up to 2025.. That's a 3 year difference.. Also the faster chip and 2GB extra RAM (base model) will keep the S8 running the latest apps for longer without any performance issues.. It's up to people themselves to decide if all that is worth the price difference.. I'd say yes if you plan to keep using the tablet for longer than 3 years..

@Franzi B. you can still use the tablet but you will not receive any Android and security updates anymore.. So security becomes less and app support will become less as well..

If you don't already have the Tab S7 then it most likely it will make sense to go with the S8. If you do have the S7 then the decision is much harder. Will the extra ram and the longer updates make it worthwhile? Either way the Samsung lineup is presently the best available on Android. (My opinion)

There's a major difference. The speakers on the S7 have eight holes, while the speakers on the S8 have seven holes.

Hey Iván, hope you are doing good. I got my S7+ because of one of your videos last year where you brought up how smart it was to trade in the S10e and the value you would get with doing so. Ended up getting the s21 with the S7+ for under $600 in total which I have been using for college. Do you have an estimate for when prices for the s22 Ultra will fall to get the best trade in? I really want to get that phone at some point but money is tuff right now lol. However, I think I'm going to stick with my tab S7+ for at least 2 more years as it is still running very well and has been so useful for University.

That’s so awesome to hear that you were able to take advantage of that deal on the s7+, very smart move, and that tablet still has tone of life in it. As far as the S22U goes, I’ve noticed that the prices have already started falling; the interesting thing about Samsun is that they usually have those super sweet deals in a very random manner, so the best thing to do is to keep your eyes opened and constantly checking their website. I’m doing the same thing, constantly checking as soon as something comes up slip share with you guys 👍🏾

Looking at benchmarks it looks like GPU is actually a lot more powerful than on previous Snapdragon SoCs. I'm sure in regular use it makes little difference as developers don't tend to push the GPUs on mobile, but it's worth pointing out.

I have the S7 and until Samsung released a Tab S series unit where the stylus is stored within the tablet, I’ll stay with the 7. It would be great to not have a dangling magnetic stylus. My Note phone stores the stylus inside the phone.

Off topic here, but I have noticed that you seem to favor Lte as opposed to wifi only. May I ask why? Are there benefits to buying the Lte more expensive versions of a tablet? Maybe a video for others like me who are close to illiterate when it comes to electronics? :)

buying the LTE means you can use a sim card along with it so in my opinion it's very useful

Good call; LTE has been part of vocab a bit more lately because the 2022 S6 Lite I picked up is an LTE model, but I will have to drop a video on the pros of picking up one versus not. There’s a small market for those who want to be connected with on tablet everywhere they go, given that’s the biggest advantage of LTE, 4G, 5G…but highlighting that could make for a good video for sure👍🏾

If you want to go ANY emulation for Dolphin or some higher end MAME games, PS2, etc. You want the S8. The Snapdragon 8 gen 1 GPU is WAY faster than the S7's Adreno 865

If you get any other S Pen, including the one from the tab s7+, which is an Active S pen, it will work the same as the S7 FE pen, nothing more. From my understanding the back of the s7 fe does not have the capability to charge, especially given that it’s native pen is not an active one. So I’d say just get the regular s7 fe pen

If someone has the S7 or S8 , please tell me if that TFT or IPS LCD is any bad, or have any issue of cheap quality? I think tab s8 is best size for me, the only concern is the display.

I've seen the s8 and s8+ next to eachother. I have to say, i can't tell de difference between the tft and amoled. Only the blacks were more black with the amoled, thats it... The s8 has the best tft i've seen, no doubt!

Have both the Tab s7 and Tab s7 plus. Love them both!!!! Screen on the Tab S7 is really nice. Color is great and very sharp and vibrant. No problems at all!

@@danfast23I am personally well into the Samsung eco systyem, I do have a phone, watch and ear buds. so it works together well. as for having 2 or 3 apps open at the same time, it handles it with no problems. I like the small form factor of the s8. I typically use the tablet for browsing, youtube, taking notes on samsung notes and spotify. I feel more free having this and realize I spent alot of time away from my desktop and sitting at a desk. oh side note I sent this message on my tab s8 with the keyboard cover case.
