I have used this holster since the 90s and love it, I recently bought a new one and I used a heat gun to bend the thumb snap into an easier position to hit quickly. It has a little plastic tab on the snap that blocks the thumb safety on my 1911 in the safe position which I love I also used a heat gun to conform the holster more to get rid of its tendency to angle out the butt of the gun. Took only a few minutes and now it hangs perfectly for me. I also like mine pretty high up so it doesn’t flop around at all. I. Only 5-8 and have a small shoulder frame so I actually had to add extra holes on the straps, where I didn’t on my old one. I also like the old Chicago screws better, what I really like is the new horizontal mag pouch, I find it will hold them both facing the same direction for indexing on reloading just fine but I’m using a single stack mag too, so it might be different on a double stack. Over all I love this holster

I have the Galco Miami classic for my Glock 43 not a heavy or big gun to carry anyway but it’s more comfortable than inside waistband. Especially when wearing a suit. I bought the extra strap for the magazine side and it’s very useful and comfortable. It makes reloading easier and securely holds it to your body. I highly recommend Galco!

Thanks for the info. I need to get the straps for mine.

@@Abk-fl7xryeah, for what these holsters cost, they should come with the straps. I use my P229 with this one, so it is not a low capacity, but I want to be able to get to the spare mags when I need them.

I'm 5'-11" and 180lbs. pretty much all muscle. My problem with the Miami Classic is exactly what you said, " the higher you go the more the butt of the weapon tends to angle away from your side." I like the weapon high for retention, getting a faster purchase on the grip because it's more secure and it doesn't flop around. Trying to do a reload from the ammo pouch was tough getting to the furthest mag honestly. I preferred the metal Chicago screws on the older models. I also noticed mags go in the pouch opposing each other, that makes indexing a bit tougher during reload. Lastly, my Miami Classic arrived with one of the holes only a quarter of the way punched. I bought a leather punch and fixed it. Sadly I returned the holster the same day, I'm giving the Aker 107 a try and hopefully I'll have better results. I will say overall the Miami Classic was a nice holster but didn't work out for me and my criteria needs.

I want to try the straps you can get that anchor the holster and mag pouch to your belt to see if that helps with the gun tipping out. Hope the new holster works for you.

I use Galco VHS for my snubbies (Ruger .357 LCR, S&W 637, and Colt DS with speed loader cases and like it very much. This has been functional in an urban environment. However, living in a city in a mountain state with more wildlife is likely to make me change to my 4 inch VHS for a more full size .357 mag revolver. Would not mind the Miami Classic like you have for my P226 MK 25 or for my 1911 when I want to carry a full size semi-auto. Thanks for sharing

Will a Springfield loaded with duel sided ambidextrous safety fit in this holster?

@@DoubleEagleGunworks it say’s Springfield full size 1911, but nothing about duel ambidextrous safety
@DoubleEagleGunworks4 ай бұрын
@@johnmazzoni487The leather retention strap should stretch enough to accommodate the ambidextrous safety. If you want to be sure before you buy one, I would suggest emailing or calling Galco customer service.

How's it going after about a year now with this shoulder holster setup?

I use a shoulder holster it works great. I wear it under a button down shirt no one ever realized it any where I went. I just got a cheap 30$ black nylon one it's great

Thanks for the info. Do you keep the shirt buttoned or wear it more like a jacket? How quick is the draw from under a buttoned shirt?
@paulcunningham28596 ай бұрын
@DoubleEagleGunworks I keep the shirt buttoned but untucked normally. I can also tuck in my shirt and put on a tie like at church. The draw time is a little slower I admit and depends if I just rip the shirt open and loose buttons. The concealability is great

would like to point two things out. Put your phone in your jacket and buy a better quality jacket. Why i say that? if you raise your arms while wearing your jacket you don't have enough room in your armpit. Good quality jackets when you move your arms up you have enough space without raising your jacket, and wearing a shoulder holster take a jacket 1 size bigger, it wont print anymore, just some pointers in an otherwise informing video. thx
