Thank you for this video, I enjoyed seeing your drive thru Galesburg, IL. I was born, raised, and grew up and graduated HS there, but moved away in 1961 when I went into the service. I haven't been back since 2007 when my Mother passed. I remember Galesburg well, but while it is all still very familiar to me, so much has changed over the years it just isn't the same old town I grew up in anymore. (But, I guess none of them are.) Thanks for the ride along. :) (I also commented on your video when you drove thru Knoxville, IL.)

Very neat town. I'm surprised we didn't hear from Levi when you said ice cream shop. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels and God bless. Levi is complaining about the red light. That is a hugh cemetary.

At 3:25 that street wasn't there back in the early 50's but, an outdoor boxing ring was there for the Friday night fights.

Second person to post a driving video of Galesburg. I too was born at the Old St Mary's Hospital across from the courthouse. My grandparents lived at 71 N Chambers until my Grandmother passed in 1981. Lovely old victorian home. You did not take the side streets but there was some really great old homes still be well maintained along those streets. It was sad to see the downtown "die off" when they opened the mall which has also been closed. Will check out the Knoxville IL video since it was my 2nd city also where I graduated high school.

If I could get on some of the side streets in some of these little towns would be awesome, but most have a truck route to follow.I just try and get everything I can.

Pretty cool city. It's downtown is a little more developed than I thought it was going to be. Definitely some history there with the old buildings. I enjoyed the video.

Born and raised here! I think our little town is a very nice town. Most people who live here all there lives don't no how to appreciate it i guess.. It's probably the same for people all around the United States.. Noone ever appreciates where they live until they don't live there anymore.. Murphys law! Nice video!

@@ThePowerfulMach5? I didn't get it at first. I'm assuming he's in a semi hauling stuff. But yeah, the pot holes here are horrendous. But hey there's a fast food joint and a gas station on every block down Henderson! 😒 Edit: Yep that was the Galesburg experience. Stopped by at least 1 red light on main and then a train stops you on your way out of town.👌 Fact: If you get lucky and get a fresh green light by the library and drive exactly 30mph you'll hit every single green light all the way to the square. So satisfying.
