Hi Dan i think you should do demos using a bought bucket of dirt or salt it with some of your gold to find a few specs and little nuggets after all the work may be putting off a novice we know thats not how it is in the wild, i was also trying to see what was turning the trommel i would like to see one stripped down .under the noisy conditions it was a great video ,thank you,.

Love your videos. Its awesome there is someone out there teaching this stiff to the younger generation and also cool you get to go out with your family and share tgat with them. I am down in Washington and have multiple sluices/highbankers dredges and so on and wanted to know what you thoughts were on the le trap sluice. I currently am using it as a highbanker cause the gold im getting is all 1/8" minus seems to work well. Just curious though. Thanks for the awesome and informative vids!!

Can't you get rid of the black sand using a big magnet?
@Danhurd8 жыл бұрын
Yes, but no. Unless your are ultra careful and do it in stages, a magnet pulls a lot of gold with the black sands. Not that the gold is magnetic. Just that as the black sand is being pulled out it mechanically grabs some of the gold and takes it with it.
@Prumzone9 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, would you mind making some and selling them. Am interested to buy one if possible.
@Axeman029 жыл бұрын
One question, how do you catch nuggets with this? Or are the so rare it would be pointless making a nugget trap?
@Danhurd9 жыл бұрын
+Axeman02 Usually I use a metal detector over the tailings pile. A 1/2" nugget would set off the detector from a long ways off. Unfortunately this did not work here at school. We found after the fact, that the asphalt I spread the tailing over, was loaded with metal. even with iron discrimination on I could not get a clean signal. After thinking about it, I realized they must have run many electrical conduits under that section.

I know what area I want to cliam but I not sure what to do now. The county tells me to contact blm. Blm tells me to start at county office. Plz help. :) thank you.

really like your videos,and the work your teaching those kids, BUT.... its NOT a gun (RIFLE) its a RIFFLE rif-ful, rhymes with SNIFFLE...... ;-)
@Danhurd9 жыл бұрын
+Rob Aldridge Ya, but the old guy that taught me much of what I know complained when ever I pronounced it that way. He insisted it I was saying it wrong and it was pronounced more like the gun "rifle, and not like the sniffle riffle. He also companied I said adit wrong. He did have a bit of an accent so who knows.
@robaldridge65059 жыл бұрын
