Have you ever tried prospecting for corundum? You did have that one star sapphire video, but corundum is apparently actually really common in most parts of the world. I've found loads of non gemmy ones, but also even a few full blown facetable sapphires. And I live thousands of km away from any actual corundum places. Might be a fun change of pace!

Dan, I was lost in the myriad of comments when you came to Arkansas. I would have given anything to have met you, and Pauly down in Mount Ida. My sister has a Lake house not just a few miles from where you were digging. Just wanna let you know I have been a fan for years, and I really enjoyed your videos. So happy you are feeling better from your little heart scare. Looking forward to many more great videos.

Best method when first using a fabric gun is estimate how far away you think it should be to have enough pressure, then double that distance and work in gradually as more pressure is needed. Until you're used to it it's a great way to make sure you don't get too much pressure and damage a piece. Also is far enough away that when you accidentally get your hand in the way which everyone does at least once, it'll just hurt like hell instead of doing serious damage.

Is there a specific benefit to using oxalic acid, as compared to say citric or vinegar?

Can other acids be used? For example, vinegar, citric acid or even more stronger phosphoric or dilute hydrochloric acid. All of these also dissolve the limestone.

Worked at a aluminum foundry and we had guns that had 5000 psi to remove hardened shell from castings, and would cut right thru a glove. We had such a hard rime finding gear to keep hands protected. Counttless times having to drive someOne to hospital cuz they blew a hole thru their hand and filled it up with dirty reclaimed water. They needed a doctor quickly.

Why do you need acid? If it's just dirt stuck to it, maybe sticking it in an ultrasonic cleaner would do the trick.
