Just look at the ratings and IMDB scores and you can see it is a very unpopular opinion. Also just look up "thirteenth doctor sad or angry moment" there is literally nothing because the series lost all of that. How I miss the sheer emotional power that was created with the tenth doctor. tf? if she can infinitely regenerate what's stopping her from sacrificing her life to protect people indefinitely? If she/he/they at any times lets someone die instead of themselves they're basically being heartless and cruel. She's basically a 'human shield'. On the other hand The Doctor is like Captain Jack? All I am saying is sacrifice is basically meaningless to The Doctor now, at least before The Doctor had a limited set of lives, The Doctor had to weigh up whether it was worth sacrificing another life, now there's none of that. Its disturbing and takes everything away from The Doctor.

Unpopular opinion: I've been a fan since I was a kid, watching the very first episode of the reboot in 2005, Matt Smith was my favourite Doctor, Amy/Clara were my favourite companions... HOWEVER... Flux was my favourite season, it opened a door for Doctor Who, how the show could be and in my opinion how it should be... having a storyline play out over a whole season was amazing and brought the change the show needed to become interesting again.

For me it fits with the rest of the show, and things like Eleven not being able to regenerate can easily be explained by some incredibly cruel technology the Timelords used on the Doctor to surpress his regeneration energy. I loved this episode so much!

I'm still not a big fan of the "Timeless Child" twist since I feel it retcons too much of the series' continuity and the Doctor as a character. If they had just gone the route that The Doctor had lived a who regeneration cycle that they chose to forget about (like how 12 forgot Clara) I think this concept could have worked, but as it is I'm not enjoying it. That said, I do like Season 12 as a whole, and I feel the faults of this and the previous Season are more on the fault of Chibnall then Whitaker (since I feel that some of these story ideas wouldn't work regardless of who was portraying The Doctor).

The thing is it doesn't really retcon anything just confirms something suggested a long time ago. I love it and it really brings something fresh to the show because I was getting not bored, but a little tired of the same monster of the week ending up at a two part finale with the occasional background season arc formula but now we have this major piece of info, something to make the doctor mysterious again, and less filler episodes next series

@@mjlover1801 If you mean by not very long I didn't watch the classic series I wasn't alive to watch the classic series but I've watched every single episode back to '63 and it doesn't retcon anything, they were gonna do it in the 60's and 70's, even in brain of morbius it showed a load of other doctors that they were gonna explain came before Baker but never got into it, given the timeless child is pre hartnell it only works around everything we already know. Kinda sick and tired of entitled baby fans who think they know better than everyone else. I bet you complained about it being 'Doctor Woke' and shit now too I don't like it when media tries to forcefeed us blatantly over feminist messages or cringy woke shit but it hasn't been doing it too much so it hasn't bothered me. I'm not gonna pretend I think chibnall's doing a great job since he isn't but series 12 was a massive improvement. Since you clearly don't like the show stop pretending to be a fucking fan
