The start of my series on the Galil Ace gen 1 in 5.56.

I really don't understand IWI stopping the gen 1 style of the Galil. I did a rewelded SAR and put a Galil MAR parts kit on it. It's almost like a gen 1 ace except there's no pic rail on the top. I'm gonna get the ace gas tube and top cover off the IWI website. I'd rather pay more for a gen 1 then get a gen 2. I don't know why gun companies keep "Americanizing" all their guns. I got a bren 2ms but I really wanted the 2s. They don't seem to understand that most gun guys that would pay that kind of money actually want the military version of the firearm. Hopefully they'll learn

Dissident arms does the delete on these for $450. Don't know if I want the option for galil mags quite that bad lol. Klayco47 has cool video on his 16" 556 gen 1. Thanks for sharing

Sadly, they don't work with the gen 1 ACE's without significant modification to the receiver.

Iwi makes a 556 rock n lock from the factory.8.3 and 13 in versions...check out carolina caliber company I just picked one up.

Hey man, can I ask you a random question? I just purchased a new in box gen1 556 Galil. When I got it home and field stripped it, noticed whatever serial numbers that are on the bolt/carrier don’t match the receiver. The internal numbers may not even be serial numbers. Just curious, not asking for the numbers just if they match. Thanks!

Yep, mine came from the factory the same way. Numbers don't match! Buddy of mine has a Gen2 7.62x39 pistol and it's the same way. I'm guessing that IWI's manufacturing processes make it so they can get away with it not matching.

No, it's definitely a generation one. Factory box says so right on the side. Gen 2's lack the iron sights and have a railed forend.

Yea gen 1 with 2 trigger. Like he said 2 have the rails and no sights.
