Have you ever thought about adding a 10-speed gearbox so the pilot would not have to pedal as hard?

My great grandfather had a patent on the same thing back in 1888. It was filled with hydrogen then, not helium. Nobody knew what happened to it, except back then, his enemies tried to destroy his attempts.

No. Aside from a few newspaper articles from the era, everything was destroyed. We can't even find out where he's buried. @@connordoody1812

That’s really cool, thanks for sharing! My grandfather invented the little “notch” on the edge of a spool to hold the thread. Check out my new podcast, “THE FLAMING BRAIN ABIDES”, as well as my autobiography, “THE CHRONICLES OF MANIA” on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

you would think gallagher would have a watermellon themed blimp, rather than just a generic white one

Wow, a little larger with a balloonette to control buoyancy and 20 or 30 hp and I would want one..

Wonderful. Take good care of it.

Hah. That is Gallagher's old balloon ship. Apparently, it did not work that great. Must have been too windy.

Inside a giant stadium, where there was no wind to contend with, it was a different beast altogether.

That actually looks like a lot of fun! Though I would imagine the helium would start to get expensive...

Pretty cool way to get around town. Also very safe.
@dimitristripakis7364 Жыл бұрын
It is not safe. Winds are dangerous and buoyancy errors might suck somebody in the sky.

Solar panel, electric motor and rigid ( carbon fiber) envelope shaped as an airfoil and you’ve got something.

Mmmm, I am imagining a lawn chair, a bunch of balloons, a good pellet gun, and one of those RC thruster motors.

i wonder if you attached a preheater to it you could just bypass the need for any kind of vertical controls, or ballast tanks.

How about adding a heated air balloon section - a small gas camping ring might do for ascents
@JohnnyFuckup6 күн бұрын
Ballonets are air-filled bags that are located inside the outer envelope of an airship. They are used to control the airship's altitude, attitude, and trim, or levelness. How they work: Ballonets work similarly to the ballast tanks of a submarine. When inflated, they reduce the volume available for the lifting gas, making it denser. This reduces the overall lift, so the airship descends. When deflated, the lift increases, so the airship ascends. How they are used: Pilots use air valves to directly control the ballonets. Multiple ballonets are typically located throughout the airship, both fore and aft, to help maintain balance and control pitch

A lithium battery and an ebike pedal motor and you’re cruising.

Leo Gallagher did not have a blimp but his younger brother Ron Gallagher did. Now Leo does have the sledge-o-matic and both of them are comedians this younger brother was billed as Gallagher Too or two. Leo stopped him with a lawyer because just think someone get hit by a something at your brother’s show and sues you for it. Leo has payed out hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages from his own shows he doesn’t need is brother helping.

You could add some gas propulsion, too. Beans and pea soup.

Helium in this one? A hydrogen blimp would be half the size. Less cross section. With all the air vacuumed out of the cell the hydrogen wont explode just burn.

too much weight the propeller isn't going at a fast enough rate to make the balloon go higher it needs a motor or more helium
