Am i the only one who gets tired of Ian in This. I mean. Mickey gave up everything. And loved Ian with all hes heart. But Ian keeps breaking mickeys heart. Over and over again. It really took Ian som time to realise what a dick he have been. And Mickey. Hes just going along with ians games. Wich just shows how much he really cares about Ian. I Think Ian needs to do something really special in season 11. We need to see hes love too. But dont give me wrong. I looooveeee Gallavich. Its my all time favorite Ship!!❤️ It was a perfect video!

I hate when people villainize Ian. When dealing with a mental illness it screws up a person's mind. When Ian broke up with Mickey the first time in 5x12, he wasn't trying to be selfish and he has been scared especially at the beginning of the bipolar storyline. He was in denial of his diagnosis. This is a boy who went from being in love and hated the fact that Mickey was going to be married to a woman and not him to cheating because he couldn't control the sexual urges he was feeling when he was going through his first major high/manic phase. Also on 7x11, I know most people wanted Ian to go with Mickey, but Ian couldn't go with him. If he had gone with him, who knows what it would have done to his mental health. It would have been disastrous because Ian may have not had access to the meds that he needs in order to keep his moods stable. And being on the run would be seriously stressful. Not that this wouldn't be an issue because, in season 8, Ian went off his meds and when through another manic phase because he was dealing with the loss of Monica and Mickey at the same time and he couldn't handle it. Now, 5x12 again, I know people view Ian as an asshole, but in honest he was NOT trying to be an asshole. He was trying to give Mickey an option of freedom because the bipolar was so much to deal with and he didn't want to take the meds, but also as a person who saw his mother and how it affected his family around him and he didn't want to put that on Mickey because he loves Mickey and Ian felt like he didn't deserve the love. Now with 10x08, when they had the issue at the courthouse, the only example that Ian has ever had of a marriage was his parents and it was a trainwreck because Frank is Frank and Monica was Monica. He was scared of doing to Mickey what Monica has done to Frank.

I think the biggest problem with the show is the lack of communication. If Ian and Mickey would talk more about such things - as well as you just explained - a lot more people would be able to understand Ian.
