What hath Deep Purple wrought? I close my eyes and it's 1972 again. I'm 15, it's a Saturday morning, and I've just heard a live version of "Highway Star" on KWFM. I call up the radio station and ask the DJ "What the hell was that?" He tells me it's on an import album called "Made In Japan," and they'd picked up one of two copies that were available at Jerry's Records down near the University of Arizona. I call the record store to ask if the other copy is there. It is. I ask them to set it aside for me. They tell me their phone has been ringing off the hook, and that it would only be fair to sell it to the first customer who comes in and asks for it. I jump on my bike and pedal the two miles as fast as my legs will carry me. I get there first, and the album is mine. For the next six months, until Warner Bros. Records FINALLY releases the album in the USA, I am the only fan in town to have a copy. To say that hearing this new Galneryus track took me back to those halcyon days is saying a lot. Thanks, guys, for helping this 63-year-old fart feel like a kid again.

Sounds like darker and heavier One For All All For One. This song specifically reminds me of New Legend with a bass solo, followed by a keyboard solo, followed by a guitar solo. Also, hearing Sho with an opera kind of voice was just cool and unique. Always wanted some more experimentation with his vocal range. Overall for me this is one of the best Galneryus songs ever, despite only having listened to it once. My excitement for the album release next week is immeasurable.

I could never wait for this to come. This is awesome! Darker tone, 7 strings, opera singing, organ, that solos... it's astonishing. Reminds me when Syu used to experiment more, but now technically improved and more mature. They are so inspired and in such a great form; I can't wait to see this live!

Some of the transients and tonal shifts in that album were some of the best. My favorite parts about this album (Into the Purgatory) were some of those insane opera vocal/solo moments, and god damn that keyboard.
