Galveston Police officer Jared Rivas was off duty when decided to beat up everyone at a pool in an apartment complex. On duty officers allowed him to do it, and never arrested him. No the Galveston district attorney has taken a significant amount of time to try to determine if charges will be filed against Off duty Galveston Police Officer Jared Rivas. It's clear to the world that he committed crimes, so I guess the only question that the DA is trying to determine is whether or not he should be held accountable for those crimes, and they are taking a LONG TIME to try to figure that out.

As of 19 hours ago the officer has been fired as per Galvestan News -- but no charges have been filed. And the officers that responded? Nothing is being a writer. To me, they committed crimes by ignoring the beatings and in one case holding a kid down while Revis punched him in the head. More than Revis committed a felony that day. We know the game. If the cop is charged and the offices who did not arrest him are held accountable, then the victims will more easily win a lawsuit. This is about saving money --- the insurance money the City pays to pay for these things. My prediction is that Revis will eventually be charged ... but the officers who aided and abetted him will walk away scot-free.

I wonder what the Galveston DA's opinion would be if someone did this to him? I imagine charges would be filed and the officer arrested before an hour had passed. Given this pig keeps assaulting people, its only a matter of time before someone goes 2A on him "in defense of self or others".
