As a carnatic violin student, I can totally relate to what you mentioned about comparing and wanting to play at faster speeds when I actually enjoy the music more at a slower speed. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this :) I will keep it in mind while I practice from now on. Your videos have been extremely helpful to me ma'am. Much gratitude and love

Hello Ma'am, I found this tutorial very-very useful. I wish I could give 1000 likes for this effort of yours! Why am I saying this? Well, 1. The words chosen by you to explain resonated with me and I am sure it will with most serious violin learners' who are transitioning from swaram to sahithyam. 2. Paraphrased; 'aligning the body and mind and focusing' is most apt, I will keep this in mind. 3. I haven't found yet or seen any video explaining so succinctly these intricacies being unraveled slowly and understandably. Thank you for your effort. 4. The tonality, texture and the words spoken by you made a lot of sense to me and I am sure to all serious learners'. 5. As you said "you were corrected by sir to play slowly", similarly; I was also told again and again during each class. Now I realise why I am being told so. By the way, playing slowly is very tuff.. Now I realise why! 6. Similarly I corrected myself by bowing end to end. Going forward I will strive to slow down further to get the much needed calm and 𝚋𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚊! Slowly playing improves 𝚜𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚂𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚊𝚖 (fingering) 6. Summing up: I reckon, am on the right trajectory. Right path of learning curve in these 2 years. Because I believe to play a comprehensive, complete, wholesome (S;) it takes a good 8 to 9 month in swarm bowing, provided one maintains correct: sitting posture, bowing technique, breathing, head position, chin, grip, holding of violin, applying rosin correctly, tightening the bow knob in a balanced way and finally the application of movement with consistency will get the desired (S;)... ! Violin in essence is millimetre & ¼ of an centimeter precision! I have a long way to go!!! Please post (more) on the philosophical aspect of music, ma'am! Sincere regards

@@KeerthanaR22 we all must thank you profusely for showing us the vision. This is your humility and good nature ma'am! Many forget that we all live in an interconnected world today and 'open source and approach is the only way forward' to grow carnatic music. Good health and best 𝚛𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚜 to you! A humble suggestion: perhaps at a time of your convenience, you would like to take one varnam example 𝚖𝚘𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚊𝚖 and delve deep on the 𝚊𝚛𝚘𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚊𝚖 and avarohanam aspects in 𝚜𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚖 and 𝚜𝚊𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚑𝚢𝚊𝚖 mode illustrating where (𝚠𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚑 𝚜𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚊) to emphasise and which 𝚜𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚊 not to be emphasised. A series could be conceptualized wherein; A top 5 to 10 𝙺𝚞𝚝𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚢 favoured raagas could be put forth by you: To begin with 𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚋𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚊𝚖, 𝚔𝚊𝚕𝚢𝚊𝚊𝚗𝚒, 𝚔𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚢𝚊, 𝚋𝚑𝚊𝚒𝚛𝚊𝚟𝚒 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚕𝚒𝚖𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 :) 𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚑𝚞 𝚋𝚑𝚊𝚒𝚛𝚊𝚟𝚒 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚜...

Please do more such tutorials for differents ragas and varnams depicting the gamakams from the junior syllabus so that we can have better understanding. Please share more insights of how the Legend TN Krishnan sir taught you as well. I am a huge fan of his music.

Hi Keerthana. While I played Ga, I was shaking the Ga a little, it’s called vibrato, but it is not really needed here, I do it because it’s enjoyable to do it .. you can try it while playing songs.. instead of doing flat notes everywhere, some vibrato adds beauty to the note. Thank you for the compliments. ❤️
