GAMBIT & ROGUE KISS!!! 😱 X-Men The Animated Series! SEASON 2 FINALE REACTION!!

So you know, the airing order of the episodes start to become wonky midway into the third season. While the first two seasons went one episode into the next, the show was picked up for another 39 episodes in one shot (later expanded to 44 episodes and then another 6 added at the end), causing the production company to begin farming them out to several different animation studios, rather than simply AKOM (the company that animated the first two). Because so many episodes were being ordered up front and they did not know if each studio could keep up with the others, the writers decided to make the stories much looser, so that some episodes will advance upon previous ones, but as to not tie each one directly to the last episode. Unfortunately, there were a number of animation errors from one studio in the Philippines, including one episode that was completely animated TWICE by two separate animation studios (No Mutant is an Island), which aired a full two years after it was supposed to, even though it bridges episodes that should have taken place before and after it. With so many production issues, a few episodes early on got pushed WAY back and pretty much everything that airs after "Dark Phoenix" saga aired completely out of the original intended order. There are SEVERAL different versions of episode guides out there going back to airing orders, production orders, the assigned-to-be-written order, Marvel Comic's own episode order (posted in their Adventures of the X-Men comic), revised continuity orders and intended airing orders. Below is one of the versions that Stephen Melching (one of the writers on the series) posted on his old AOL website waaay back in the late 90s. I have found that this is the best order for maintaining the original intention and continuity of the series and is the version that I have used to this day. If it helps in any way, go for it. If not, that is fine as well. Just make sure that whatever order you do watch them in, "No Mutant is an Island" must be watched directly after The Phoenix Saga. It is the epilogue to those episodes. The Savage Lands was created by aliens called the Nuwali. They made it for the Beyonders as a game preserve back in prehistoric times.

The Savage Land has existed in Marvel Comics since 1941. It's one of many game preserves set up by the Beyonders on various planets to observe the process of evolution in a controlled environment. The one on Earth was created during the Triassic Period in a valley of Antarctica surrounded by volcanoes, and regularly stocked with new creatures/hominids up until the Last Ice Age when the experiment was abandoned. The self-maintaining technology used to keep the tropical climate controlled was kept running, creating a sort of pre-historic oasis even as the land around it froze over. A form of vibranium known as Antarctic Vibranium is mined there and it's been the site of a lot of important story arcs in the comics.
