You should add in some code that lets bots be vindictive. So if a bot gets killed by the player, there's a chance that on the next respawn, the bot will have the same name but it'll be one of the Chad bots that are slightly better than the player, and it'll pursue the player either for a set amount of time or until the player gets killed once. I think this is realistic for how some players would act

You can still escape the map easily: Step 1: Grow normally until you have the size of about 1/4 to 1/3 of the map and chase always top 2 and 3 to grow further. Step 2: Stay idle. The minions will feed itself to you. Step 3: Wait until you have a larger size than the outside boundaries. Step 4: Flip with the space bar Step 5: Profit. You are outside the map.

@Tizio-caio this is informative, my friends and i have recently started replaying agario after a decade and we make sure we join the same lobby, makes sense that the other "players" in the room are all bots moving around.

Take these with a grain of salt since I have never published a game, but here are some suggestions: make the blue squares scale up to match you every once in a while to prevent the detail from being lost at large sizes, randomize your list of names then pick from the top to prevent duplicates, give bots a chance to change names when respawning, and instead of using collision boxes just use bounds checks for the edges because if you get big enough you can still flip out of the current map

i play the game for 30 minutes now, my screen is 3/4 grey background, my waffle is almost the size of the dark square that surrounds the map and there is an unpleasant ASMR in my ears.

First, I just wanted to say really cool concept! I played it for a bit, and I have 3 suggestions: 1. Make it so you can see more of your direct surroundings. When you're going at the highest speed, it makes it difficult to play because of how small your direct vicinity is. 2. Between games, the ranking on the game is randomized. That makes it really easy to tell that it's fake. Because I was playing and Billy was #1 in the game. Then I died and immediately respawned. Suddenly Billy is #8. If I hadn't watched this video, it would only take a few attempts for me to realize it's fake multiplayer. 3. In its current state, it's possible to spawn under one of the bots. I suggest changing the spawn code so that it first checks to make sure the spawn location isn't touching someone else's hitbox. EDIT: There was a point where I got so big that everyone got spawnkilled by me. Then I did a flip and it put me completely out of bounds (even past the shadowy walls, so I can freely move around the entire wall)

Well, just never flip and always run away until you are the biggest, then chase those 2-3 ranks below you, until you are clearly double size from rank #2, then chase highgest rank until you hit all borders at once. You will get to a point where you spawnkill everyone and eventually outgrow the play area glitching back and forth. at some point you outgrow even the dark grey area. Had loved if when you hit the wall size you turn into a syrup and another even bigger one comes to grab you.

You should add a feature to make it that when you or one of the bots are the king they get some sort of thing that makes them stand out from the player or other bots, other than the leader bored, like maybe the king would have a piece of butter on them, or they have syrup covering their character, that would make the player (or bot) with the most syrup stand out from everyone else.

If I recall, godot has a function for sprite2d nodes that will squish the node like you are doing at the beginning. If not, you can set the size to an uneven aspect ratio to squish it.

If you scale like that then the outline would get very thin on the edge that's being flipped, it seems that gambit wanted the outline to stay the same width always. It's the little things :)

i became so big i crashed the game (i got send back to the start screen), first i got so big i got kicked out of the map and side walls, then i waited for a bot to become almost my size, and then i flipped on the map, i got like 1.7x the map and side walls before i crashed

You should make the client actually connect to a server, and if the client doesn't get pings back, it should do some weird stuff, like no longer spawning syrup, making bots move in the direction they went to when the client disconnected, and maybe, make the player lose syrup without any syrup leaving the body. Also, I believe Agario doesn't have walls but actually a room and moves the player back into the room should the player try to leave.

Instead of despawning the syrup you can simply merge small drops into sligtly bigger ones and store 2 or 3 times and much syrup

Cool! I played the game and see one major issue thats easy to fix. After a certain size, you lose more syrup by flipping than just absorbing waffles. The bots dont know this so there is actually a max size to the bots. You should only lose syrup on flipping if you dont eat another waffle; or the lost amount of syrup should always be max 50% of the other waffles syrup amount
