Laser seriously injured his spine during one of his work sessions, so he retired. Darkness left gamblers and began teaching bboying in few universities in Korea including Pusan University of Arts. He then became choreographer for the movie 'Hype Nation'.

@rlawjdxo9017 жыл бұрын
for every bboy vid I see, there is a disupute between style and power. Style and power are both equal part of bboying. Bboying evolves after time, new school to old school, its all under the same category.

I'm not saying to live in the past, most of my bboying style moves are semi-new school, but lately as far as footwork and tops go, I've gotten a little more traditional, but moves wise, I do a lot more flips, suicide type moves, some power, and one hand rollback or other type strength freezes, and some handhops and airbaby type things.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. You can be the most exciting bboy to the crowd, by digging deep down. I know you think being a stylehead means boring, that's not the case. There are guys who barely do power, but break amazingly and wow the crowd. Bboy Dyzee, Lego. And style doesn't = no power. There are guys who stay true to style and foundation, but do mad power.
@Holyfiremikey17 жыл бұрын
it's really short, but recent footage. I put style with strength together, and it wows a crowd regardless. I got a record deal, mainly more based on my bboying, rather than my singing. My boss doesn't know about bboying, but told me although I don't do all the power Korean bboys here do, he sees I have a very "free" way of dancing, that sets me apart. I'm still not that good, but trust me, style isn't just doing boring six steps.

I am in Korea under a record contract, and just finished recording my mini album to debut. So with my bboying, it's going to be a part of my performance. So yes, I will be using it for entertainment, I'm not saying it can't be used for that. I'm just saying, if the only thing you're bboying for is to wow a crowd, rather than reaching in to your soul to express your pneuma (spirit) psuche (psyche) to the music, and the music moving that.
@breakingbboy17 жыл бұрын
6thsupersense, im a breakdancer, im not good but i think it really is fun. So it doesnt matter that korea is that good, they are just fun too watch and inspirational for guys like me.
@Holyfiremikey18 жыл бұрын
So moves wise, I'm not just doing some windmill and a handglide, I'm talking about the fundamentals of toprock and footwork needing to be emphasized, and in that area, the majority of the Gamblers crew does not have these down. Mr. Freeze's words, ""A jazz dancer comin to a bboy audition. You know, just cuz he could do those continuous backspins, which the commercial public knows as windmills, you know, just cuz he could do that, doesn't mean that he's a bboy.

Then it's just a circus show, animal monkeys swinging on trees, and elephants balancing on balls. When I bboy, I don't aim for "let me do moves to make people say wow." I just use whatever emotion I have, and I burst it out in cooperation with the music. And most of the time, my moves and dancing, are powerful, fast, and involve a lot of strength, so the wow factor for the crowd still comes out anyway, and at the same time, my soul is being represented.

And majority of Korean bboys here, have the same mentality that you need to have style, footwork, and toprocks, it's from practicing with them that I learned more of the traditional foundations and basics, and from there you build on it, but without those foundations, you're just doing tricks, and this is agreed upon by the creators of bboying in the Bronx, and the majority of bboys in Korea, which is why the majority you'll see do toprocks and footworks and have unique styles. Peace
