There was a guy from England that forged painting , John Myatt, that taught students on a TV show, the forger's masterclass, to use KY-jelly for this. He said it worked just as well and was much cheaper. You might want to look into it.
@user-he6nj1zv9f6 ай бұрын
My bad, it has been years since I saw that program. He used KY-jelly to extend the drying time of acrylic paints. Maybe it would work with the water soluble oil paints.

Can I built a layer of thick paint out of the tube after a layer of free solvent gel added to paint? Or I should keep adding the gel to the paint as I built layers?
@WildCreates Жыл бұрын
If you are painting wet on wet style... start with a firmer paint then add some gel to make it more fluid/fatty/creamy.... this will allow you to stick the next layer on top more easily.

I would like to know where in a Bob Ross known artwork, where these products would be helpful. I am curious if it would help dry the tacky base color of trees, so if you come with your highlight colors same time, or tomorrow, how this may benefit (or may not) this process.
@WildCreates11 ай бұрын
There are many uses BUT the main example would be... when it comes to using this with BRI products is when you need to thin your paint down to make it stick ( aka highlights ). Rather than use a drop or 2 of toxic thinner ( like Bob does) you can use this instead ( which is way healthier ). Hope that makes sense.

Hello Wild Creates. How long will it take for an oil under painting to dry and how long will it takes for an full oil painting to dry?
@WildCreates Жыл бұрын
This is always hard to answer because it depends on a bunch of different variables: How thin the paint was, what mediums were used, how much paint was used, are there multiple layers, weather/location, etc. Under paintings can dry on the faster side if thinner or certain mediums were used. Like less than 12 days. For a full oil painting to dry, it can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months (depending on how much oil was used )

Can you eloborate a little on fat over lean with using only this product and oil paint? Are you supposed to use the gel or fluid then use the safflower oil?
@WildCreates2 жыл бұрын
Without going to deep into it and keeping it very simple. You would use this gel in place of other mediums ( cause it works the exact same way,, its just a gel ). Use your firmer paint first then you will use a mixture of color with this gel that will go on top or blend with the firmer paint.

@@WildCreates hi. If the paint mixed with the solvent free is considered "lean" I was just wondering what is the fat you put on top of that?

Generally anything that adds more oil material or more binder material. But there are exceptions. Just think of it this way.... If your paint is more watery/liquidy aka thin then use fattier or thicker paint on that.

Also I think people are going to try to not want to buy bob Ross Inc products for a while but while people are going to be having on the company for a while it's not the same company it used to be like it's no longer the same company portrayed in the Netflix docu, the state of the bob ross company is just 11 employees and half of them are middle age or retired ladies and they are constantly receiving harrasing phone calls and messages and it's been a bad time for them and I feel like if they made a video about the state of the company and do a video being very open and transparent about what goes on at the company now a days it would help clear up a lot of misconceptions, Hope I'm not gonna start an argument or anything
