@@Pops1020 yes man only thing I ever prayed for was mental stability , everything is out of my control . I feel so good I took my power back , the more we deal with our enteral self our traumas and hurt an pain and emotions the less chance we try to escape from our truths through gambling drinking smoking drugs addictions , this world keeps us doubting self knowing there’s more , but we have to appreciate what we have until we work our way up to our greatness
@steve92332 күн бұрын
@@Pops1020 quitting right before your big win is selling yourself short. casinos love when people lose a lot of money and then self exclude. but not when you win a ton of money and then ban yourself as they cannot get this money back. aka they're mad no amount of comping you can get you to give it all back to them.
@suzanne7277Күн бұрын
Well done, you did the right thing. I’m thinking to self exclude myself too as I just keep losing more and more.

My husband and I started gambling back in the late 90's. Back then, we kept a certain amount that we would spend, and when that was gone, we left! It's a different story now. I'll back up. I found that I was getting out of control but not as bad as my husband. However we were losing a lot of money every week. I was so ashamed! So I signed up for the VEP program. I couldn't even go IN A CASINO for FIVE YEARS!! My husband was not happy with me. Long story but now the 5 yrs. are over and I'm going with my husband once or twice a week sometimes. He wins most of the time, but usually puts it right back in the machine. I'm over it. We can't afford this. Living on our retirement. 😢😢

Your situation is unfortunate 😪 My in-laws following their retirement sold their mortgage free home and moved into a senior apartment complex which provided many activities for the residents including monthly bus trips to a local casino. All it took was one casino bus trip that my in-laws took shortly after moving into this apartment complex that was the start of their gambling addiction. Since both were driving at that time, the once a month casino bus trips were not enough for them so they started driving themselves to the casino multiple times a week. By the time my FIL died 10 years later they had gone through the $300k from the proceeds from the sale of their home, money they had in other retirement savings, and they cashed out both their insurance policies intended to pay for their funeral expenses. When my FIL's Social Security and pension checks went away after he died my MIL had a hard time making ends meet which their long gone retirement savings was meant to prevent that. Sadly, for the next 10 years that my MIL lived after my FIL's death she did not have an extra dollar to spend to do some enjoyable things like going out to eat or to the movies with friends. We made sure her needs were met such as food, clothing, and providing for other essentials but we would not give my MIL money because she would just head off to the casino with it. My husband and I ended up paying for both my in-laws funerals which cost us $20k. I sincerely hope you take the necessary actions to get the help you both need to stop gambling so that when either of you become a widow/widower you do not end up like my MIL did living the rest of her life in constant financial despair.

@nightengale2123 I'm sorry for what happened to you as a result of your in-laws addiction. It's sad to think that happened. It is so unfortunate that this can happen as a result of someone other than you could mess up YOUR LIFE!!! I will get the help needed for us. Thank you for sharing.
@nightengale21236 күн бұрын
@@maryhightshue7866Glad to hear you are considering getting help which is a positive step in the right direction. We went to the casino a couple of times with my in-laws because they got some comped show tickets and invited us to go. We were younger and both in the workforce at that time, and my husband and I were shocked to see mostly seniors likely on fixed retirement incomes there playing slots. Sadly, these local smaller casinos that only have slots and no table games prey on seniors because that is the population that keeps them in business.

I cant stand myself, I'm so sick and tired of my addiction, I work so hard and am great at my job, and am starting to do pretty well financially, but its all for nothing, i will clear my bank account out the moment money hits it on gambling, mostly sports betting and slot machines. Its really getting me down, its this impulsivity I cant seem to shake off, everyday its a re occurring theme, I get bored in my spare time and spend all my money on gambling, thousands on thousands a month. I feel like this is ruining my future, what can I do?

Put a few thousand into stocks and start learning to trade. You will satisfy your gambling addiction but stocks are a lot easier to figure out than slot machines. Basically buying low selling high.

I can relate to the winning and losing …. You win- “keep it going”. You lose “have to win it back”…….I work hard to limit myself to once and month but find myself going through more money than I did when I went 4 times a month!! I’m going to start leaving my ATM card at home … I love video poker and plan vegas trips with family 3 times a year …. I do fine avoiding gambling - but once I’m doing it - it’s hard to find the shut off switch - especially with alcohol involved …. I often wonder if I have a problem…. I always pay bills first - I have savings and a brokerage account …. I just feel guilty when I gamble and lose more $$$ than I planned for ..

This videos help me very much, keep them coming Rob! Would be really nice if you could get an interview with someone who was addicted to online crypto casinos like Stake. Those sites destroyed my life and I believe they're even more addictive than regular casinos and online casinos for various different reasons (chat, tipping, rains, streamers, bonuses...) Would be really helpful if you could talk about that or find someone who experienced that for an interview. Thank you!

@@Odaat_Recovery I have been trying to tell people in the rooms and now in virtual ones just how pervasive and relatively novel online gambling is and that includes loot boxes and unboxing crates and cases in video games. There is an entire generation of gamblers produced by the obvious casino groups but if you look into how kids gamble within the realms of Valve and sites like Stake, you would be shocked even with your experience.
