I was pretty amazed when I played KDL2 on Game Boy by the improvement compared to the first game. I can proudly say to archive the 100% and the access to the special config and sound test. But I don't think that my save game still exists after all the time has past.

This game is the hardest Kirby I've ever played. Just so happens to be the first one I played and the first GBA game I had. . . . good times. I never got all the rainbow things. I was too young and stupid hahaha. I at least got 5 of them though.

It was really the hardest Kirby game..!! :) I remember when I first finished the game, I defeated King DeDeDe but I didn't have all the planetaries ( I used to call them like this!) and in the end it was written "The end?". So I realized that I hadn't finished it and there was something more bad.. O_o Then I played the game again and i saw a planet (that was how I called them!:P) and I thought yes there must be seven of them and then it was really the end. But at first I really remember I was shocked that the first end wasn't really the end :P …!

Agreed. Just played it through again and was taken aback by just how hard it is compared to the rest of the series. Rainbow shards are a lot of trial and error without a guide and in many cases the animals just make things more complicated. It’s more on par with what I’d expect from any other game released in the early to mid 90’s. The only thing that might be more challenging where Kirby is concerned is the hard mode of the first dream land (which I didn’t even know existed until this year as I’d always just assume the game was over after beating it once)

You probably said ‘GBA’ because you used to play this game on the Game Boy Advance. It has backwards compatibility for Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.

Crazy to think that when this was released, the audio tech for gameboy was was so limited that it had a mere five sound channels. If all five were playing you'd have to mute one just to hear a sound effect.

Ahhh yeah, I remember playing this game when I was young! Though only certain details really stuck to me, like the boar boss or the intro scene with the animals or things like that. Don't know that I even finished the game, I think I was playing on a friend's console or something XD

I played the hell out of this in 1997 or so, hadn't played it since. Didn't think I could remember any of it but once I started watching this it all came flooding back! I don't think it was a very hard game, but it did have a hard mode that I recall was brutal Also some trivia: the music for Red Canyon had debuted a few months earlier in Kirby's Avalanche, and at 48:35 the placement of those blocks is supposed to resemble a naked woman and was censored in some regions when they figured that out

This was one of my first videogames-I couldn’t have been more than 6 or 7 years old. I was able to get as far as beating the “first” final boss, and thought I’d won the game. I didn’t think much of those difficult rainbow stars (only managed to get one or two), and thought the black question mark in the (not full) ending was just foreshadowing for the next installment. Fast-forward to 6-7 years later, when I dug the game out of my closet, and decided to replay it for fun. I thought hmm, this is too easy, why don’t I try to figure out how to actually collect all of those difficult rainbow stars, and I did. Sure enough when I defeated Dedede and thought the game was over, I was SHOCKED when I realized I was now about to fight the FINAL final boss. I felt goosebumps-it was the 7-year payoff I never knew I needed.
