Oh man. It's the worst game I've maybe ever seen. Especially when the other games were at least resembled Mortal Kombat

I know MK2 on the GameBoy was pretty awesome, so I guess it ended up working out in the end, but who thought it was a good idea to try to put Mortal Kombat on a GameBoy? That's like trying to put Minecraft on a Game-&-Watch.
@TelesplashGaming3 жыл бұрын
Haha. Gameboy was trying to keep up with the big boys of the 90's, but was stuck with technology from the 80's. It did angreat job most of the time, but MK was a bad choice, other than 2

I bought a MK1 and 2 genuine GB multicart back in the heyday of the GB. They must have figured the first was bad...Let's include it for free with the second. Thoroughly enjoyed it but only played it on the go, always played the SNES versions when at home. Enjoyed the vid 😁👍

Thanks for watching. 1 was really bad, but 2 actually impressed me. For what it was working with, I felt it did a pretty good job. Nothing compares to the SNES/Genesis ports though.

I actually just played MK Deadly Alliance on GBA and it was actually pretty fun to pull off cheap combos and to do Fatalities. Unlocking the characters through the difficulty challenges are also fun. It's a lot better than a lot of other GB/GBA MK games even though they tried to do a bit too much but overall it was fun.

I thought it was a solid game as well.

MK 2 was such a revelation compared to the first one and anything that followed it.

I can't believe they didn't follow the formula. It was so good for a Gameboy Game.

The Gameboy was best suited for RPG's and puzzle games with some platformers. How they ever thought a fast paced fighting game would work is astounding.
@TelesplashGaming3 жыл бұрын
Ya. Although MK2 actually played almost perfect. I was blown away by how smooth it was.

That would had been true if Killer Instinct, Samurai Shodown, Real Bout Fatal Fury, and KOF doesn't exist. Those games were absolutely masterpiece and so much fun on Game Boy, it was basically the NeoGeo Pocket Color before there was even one. Heck Samurai Shodown on Game Boy had more contents than even the consoles and arcade versions. Then we had Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival, Street Fighter Alpha on GBC and Street Fighter Alpha 3 which had exclusives characters. Mortal Kombat's issue was that it got lazy developers handling it. That is all. Also on GBA, MK Advance failed due to laziness of the dev, all other fighting games such Tekken Advance, KOF EX 1 & 2, Zatch Bell, Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival, Gundam Seed, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Guilty Gear X, and Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors all got it right and shows the GBA was more than capable of delivering a good portable fighting package.

Ouch. Why would you put yourself through this torture Chris? Also as a follow up vid you should do the Game Gear ports.

With the movie coming out, I really thought it would be fun to try them out......it wasn't lol. I might take at those game gear variants now

Classic game, but the original on Gameboy is so bad.

The trouble about Mortal Kombat for the Game Boy is you have to press the buttons a bit slow to get the special moves and finishing moves to work.

Dude! the Handheld versions of MK are so bad... it's like why did they even bother... totally a cash grab thing.
@TelesplashGaming3 жыл бұрын
It was. Although, MK2 played surprisingly smooth. My favorite out of the bunch.
@VOAN Жыл бұрын
They bother cause the MK craze at the time were crazy. So crazy even the Tiger LCD handheld had a version. Even better the Tiger LCD game had all 7 fighters plus Goro and Shang Tsung. The only thing is all fighters use the same sprite animation so some would look weird and each fighter had 2 moves.
