Owens Corning makes a fiberglass rebar now same sizes abs price as rebar but they swear by it that it has like triple the breaking strength and they’re hot pink lol those you got would be ideal through set up ready to go and probably not bad shipping since they’re lighter.

Brother me and my neighbor done tried them 3 years ago any nick or teeth bites causes splinters i have had to get 2 large splinters out of my hands i went to lap chains they are the best ive used over rebar and fiberglass youll see .

Bro, those fiberglass stake is really a great idea, except that after a few traps slide down & they get banged around ... fiberglass splinters really easy & you better be wearing leather glove to handle them ! Now I have to tell you about your snaring idea, been used for many many years ! I just use my wolf anger stake n pound the wire in ! Really that simple ! lol I guess that comes in time & experience ! ⚓😉👍🇺🇸 Another good video though ! Keep up the good work

They either break or you get a piece in your hand when they start peeling.

These poles won’t snap like the old fiberglass ones for tents. I’ve been using them the last two years. Even when it’s freezing outside they are still flexible

Now that the season is over I was wondering if you got to use this new system much. From this year's videos it looked like you were still using rebar. I did not know if these were working for you or not.
@larryburnell79133 жыл бұрын
When your beaver is at the bottom of the fiberglass drowning rod, what keeps it from sliding off of the end of the rod when you are pulling it in when you go to reset or pull the trap? Also 1 fiberglass splinter in your hand and you might not think that they are so neat, and all trappers think that they can be extra careful with their equipment, but think about it, if you are using your equipment hard it still tends to get banged up a little bit, lets see how they hold up a few hard worked seasons down the road!

Great idea with the cable support. If you have a wolf fang driver you already have the tool with the slot cut into it. I may have to look into the fiberglass downer's. They probably are light enough even to carry into the swamp and do away with the slide cables and worrying where to get heavy rocks for the burlap bags

There is an actual tool for anchoring the snare support wire. It's call a Redman snare tool I believe. Dakota snares sell them. I do like the fiberglass rods. Like you said it will make it so much easier for trapping beaver. You will also be able to use them fiberglass rods for muskrat trapping in deeper water with the Hags bracket also.
