This was EXACTLY what I needed to learn for my horse's negative palmer. Thanks much.

Thanks for these videos! Watched your video on heel pain which led to putting frog support pads with DIM on my low heeled, long toed horse. Game changer! I have a sound horse again. Would like to see some follow ups of the progression to expect as the frog gets healthy. Will the under run heels move back or will it they always be prone to run under?

I completely agree with you about topping because the dorsal angle needs to match the coffin bone angle and it’s not possible to do that without rasping off the distortion.

Thank you! We believe in shaping the foot as balanced as possible to promote healthy growth, to where the foot should be!

I always figured "topping" the outer hoof wall was cheating just to make it look better. Does it have any mechanical benifit? I like to see the bulge or the dip to see what needs addressing underneath. I've had farriers rasp the outer foot all the way up and I don't like that. The best farrier I've had and what I do when I do maintenence is rasp only a quarter inch roll on the edge of hoof wall. But ????

It looks a lot better after shoeing. I wish I'd known more when I had horses.

Nice work! How long do you think it will take for the heels to grow to optimal condition?

You have made an unfair comparison to the prior farrier's shoeing with (probably) keg shoes. What would you have been able to do for the cost of an ordinary shoeing?

Wasn’t the distortion laminitis?

No

@@olsenequinecjf surprised. In the U.K. we don’t normally file out distortions like this. It weakens the hoof wall.

By “topped the foot,” do you mean outside work to reduce toe flares?

Isn’t that a sinking coffin bone distortion
